They're not playing any of their Big 3. Personally I think it's bullshit.

That is some serious BS. Hopefully the league takes a hard look at that.

The Lakers several years ago were fined big-time by the league for completely sitting Shaq and Kobe out of a game right before the end of the season without an injury report or notifying the league or the opposing team beforehand. They were accused of shorting the ticket-paying customers, and unfair business practices. I would say that the same precident applies here.

That's definitely it. Pop, coach of the 2nd place team in the West, really wants that high draft pick, huh? Or, maybe he's gambling. Yawp. Or, maybe its just that he isn't making all of his team's decisions with the Blazers in mind.

OR, OR, OR, maybe its, I dunno, REST?? THEY ARE KIND OF AN OLD TEAM.

I was wondering why the Nuggets were killing the Spurs.

    Bummer.

If I was a paying customer at this game I'd be pissed. The league should take action.

Why? Because my hometown team is beating the shit out of the other team?

Man I just turned the game on hoping to see the Spurs up, only to see the scrubs in for a really long time before I saw this thread. While pissed, teams retain the right to rest players as they see fit. Just because it doesn't suit my plans doesn't make it wrong. Phoenix rests Shaq on the 2nd of back to backs every time. They have done it all season long. Maybe Pop is confident in what his team can do when they are healthy, and just wants to make sure they make the playoffs, healthy.

Even the hint of impropriety at this stage in the NBA's relationship with the fans (Tim Donaghy?) is not a good thing. The NBA has a vested interest in assuring the common fan that the games are on the level. The Spurs holding out their best three players for the reason of "rest" is very suspect. Players rest on off days.

Who cares? The spurs can do whatever they want to. Maybe it's a strategic move, maybe their guys need rest. Don't teams do this all the time in games 81 and 82 when they already make the playoffs?
