[quoteright]"Over the last two games, we too easily allowed the ball to get to the rim, and I guess I would say that I will play only the people from here on that will make it a point not to let the basketball get to the rim," O'Brien said. "If I have to overplay people minutes to get the toughness that we need in that phase of the game, then that's what I'll do."[/quoteright]On their first nationally televised game the celtics were embarassed by the Spurs. Horrible defense by just about everyone, allowing Tony Parker 20, in the first half is unacceptable, as is Rasho Nesterovic's 23 and 13. They were outrebounded 50-34 and outscored in the paint 54-34. Paul Pierce scored 19 on 6-18 shooting, Mark Blount had 15, and Ricky Davis had 14. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"It's really tough when you go out on the court and all five guys aren't on the same page all the time," Pierce said. "We're trying to find our way together as a team that just came together this year."</div> In his last 2 games Pierce is 15-54. OB should rest him and let him recover from his injury, especially with the easy week against Miami and Washington. [imgl]http://images.sportsline.com/u/ap/photos/BXG102011815_lower.jpg[/imgl]
That game was painful to watch. Pierce needs help out there so he can rest a while. Ainge had better trade for someone because this city hates losing. The Pats win took the edge off.
