Before Cisse was released, we wer pretty much stacked with forwards...Bosh, Marshall, Moiso (not much of a 5), Bonner, Sow

I was just thinking "is this bcoz they'll gonna play bosh at 3?"... [IMG]

I can't see Bosh playing much 3. The idea was used when they thought they had some realistic options at the 5. The more we get to see of our players that were supposed to fill the 5 spot, the less likely it seems that Bosh will be playing the 3. I would say Bosh plays the 4 80% of his time, the 5 15% of his time, and gets to the 3 5% of his time. They just don't have the roster to allow him to play out on the wing.

They are not gonna move Bosh to the 3 but they will problably play him there depending on the situation. I can see Mitchell going with a lineup of Woods, Marshall and Bosh if he needs a rebound or a wants to crowd the inside with big men. But Bosh will play 95% of his time at the 4 and 5.

From the offseason, it seems that Bosh is trying to model himself after Kevin Garnett; he is now moving more to the outside, and is slashing more to the hoop on isolation plays. IMO, this is a good move for him, because it doesn't look like he'll gain much weight, and Bosh already have pretty good shooting skills for a four. Thus, if he really does get the skill set of KG in the future, it is not unlikely that he will play the three for 20 minutes each game, just like Garnett was and still is.

looks like gary trent was waived by the bulls. might not be a bad pickup for the raps. id gladly dump moiso, woods, bonner...or any one of our other scrubs for trent. he's a bull

Well, Trent was allegedly released because he didn't want to come off the bench, and had a cocky air to him. If that's the case, we could do without him. Bosh, Woods and Marshall seem to be eating most of the minutes up, and I doubt Trent would do any more than Lonny Baxter did.

i thought lonny was decent too though. i watched every game that he played in and i thought he played alright.

we only released him to make room for strickland. lonny logged decent minutes, but trent is better then lonny for sure

Well for now we don't need a whole lot of help in the guard spot, so I bet stacking up on all these forwards is just for some depth, we all saw how much success the Grizzlies and Pistons had with their depth (in no way am I comparing the Raptors to them), I just think with all these players we can see different mixes and most of all some more help off the bench.

Gary Trent would be a good pick, but dumping Woods or Moiso would be a mistake. Moiso just added about 30 pounds of muscle, and because of that it looks like he'll want to actually compete for the C spot. Also Woods has been playing very well in the preseason (for what Ive noticed) and could actually be a solid player for the Raps this year.

I'm also dissapointed that we lost Lonny, I watched him a lot in college - he hasn't played that great in the NBA but he wasn't bad for us.

woods has shown signs of being "not bad" hes also shown signs of being a defensive liability. both him and moiso have huge question marks going into this season...im just saying with trent, you know what your going to get. it would just suck if both turned in another one of their typical seasons, and trent got picked up by someone else

Howard Eisley recently agreed to a buyout with the Suns. He'll clear waivers on Monday and it has been said that he is likely to goto the Jazz, his former team. I was just thinking that the Raps should persue him, but it's unlikely we'll land him.

Howard Eisley > Milt and Roger, if we could get Eisley I'll be happy because we'd have a reliable backup PG. Milt is too wild and can't shoot, and Roger Mason doesnt have playmaking abilities, and isn't fast and quick enough for the PG spot.

One of the Bulls PG's would be nice, but whatever.

i agree with the lack of playmaking ability in regards to mason but i think he's deceptively quick. i think he can get by his man if he needs to but playmaking and decision making (especially turnovers) are his albatross at the point. and i concur with the palacio review, he sucks. so far we have come up with eisley, pargo and may i add rod strickland to the list of potential backups on a 12-15 minute basis.

Trent won't last more than 40 games IMO. He's already very injury-prone and hasn't seen action in a while. I doubt he'd be ready to contribute.
