Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel today announced that import linebacker Dwaine Carpenter has been released. "We thank Dwaine for his contributions as a member of the Calgary Stampeders," said Hufnagel. "He was a solid contributor on the field and in the locker-room. "However, during the past two seasons, his role became reduced and that would have been the case again if he would have returned in 2010. It just wasn't feasible for us to have a starter's-type salary in a situational role, so we made this decision and we wish Dwaine the best." Carpenter joined the Stamps in 2007. He dressed in 50 games with the club and recorded 119 tackles, 44 special-teams tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, four forced fumbles and eight fumble recoveries in three seasons for Calgary. Stamps 2010 season tickets are available now. Fans are encouraged to contact the Stampeders' Ticket Office by phone at 403-289-0258 (or toll free at 1-800-667-3267) to get theirs today.
