Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that defensive back Brandon Isaac has signed a contract extension with the club. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Isaac is coming off a rookie season that saw him make 24 defensive tackles and sevenspecial-teams tackles while recording two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, one pass knockdown and three sacks. The sackswere the most by a Stamps defensive back since 1998. "We were really happy with Brandon's progress throughout his rookie season," said Hufnagel. "Our coaching staff is excited about his potential." Isaac played in 15 regular-season games in 2010, making two starts, and also saw action in the West final. He originally signed with Calgary as a free agent in May of 2010. "I'm really looking forward to the 2011 season," said Isaac. "I hope to build on the momentum from my rookie season and contribute towards the Stamps' success."
