Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of import quarterbacks Michael Desormeaux and Dennis Brown, as well as import defensive back Jason Horton. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed. Desormaeaux spent four weeks on the Stamps' practice roster in 2009 after signing with the team in mid-October. He was with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars prior to joining Calgary and attended Louisiana-Lafeyyette University. He played four seasons for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns, and was named the Sun Belt Conference's offensive player of the year as a senior. Brown transferred to Norfolk State after attending the University of Connecticut for his freshman season. In 2009, Brown passed for 2,228 yards and 18 majors, with a 134.3 passer rating, while rushing for a school-record 571 yards and five touchdowns. Horton was most recently with the National Football League's Oakland Raiders. He has also spent time with Green Bay, Houston and Kansas City. He first came to the CFL in 2003 when he played two regular-season games and one playoff contest with the Toronto Argonauts. Stamps 2010 season tickets are available now.
