- The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today the acquisition of guard Gerard Tarin from the available player pool. In a related move, the team waived guard B.J. Taylor. Tarin (6-9, 215, Nova Southeastern) appeared in 23 games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the NBA G League affiliate of the Miami Heat, during the 2018-19 season where he averaged 3.8 points and three rebounds in 8.2 minutes a game. Tarin spent the 2020-21 season with Vllaznia of the Albanian Superliga. Prior to his time in the NBA G League, the Fort Myers, Fla. native, spent two seasons at Salem University (2014-16) before transferring to Nova Southeastern University (FL) for two seasons (2016-2018). Tarin owned collegiate career averages of 11.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, one assist and one block in 24.1 minutes a game. Tarin was named GMAC Rookie of the year in 2015. Taylor appeared in two games with the Stars this season contributing one point, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game. Salt Lake City Stars News Release
