Simple: If you could start a franchise with any 5 current players as they are now CURRENTLY, not IF they're healthy, but just as they are right now to start next season, and the goal for your franchise is to create a dynasty in about 2 or 3 years, who would you pick for your starting 5. Mine: Carmelo Anthony Deron Williams Chris Bosh Ben Gordon Amare Stoudemire Kobe and DIrk are too old already to be thinking about dominating 3 years down the line. And LeBron...I have questions about his head, not his talent, but his will to win......the above 5 have more than shown me their passion for winning
<div class="quote_poster">Bobcats Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Chris Paul Dwyane Wade LeBron James Chris Bosh Dwight Howard</div> come on Bobcats, surprise me with one unconventional choice! ah well...can't argue with those
<div class="quote_poster">Bobcats Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Chris Paul Dwyane Wade LeBron James Chris Bosh Dwight Howard</div> ^^^ Those are the clear 5 IMO. You coul dmake arguements for Arenas, Deron Williams, Amare, Yao, but the 5 above are the better choices, factoring age, injuries, skill and talent. I love Deron Williams, but I chose Paul because I believe he has a higher ceiling and with his quickness and ability to control a game, he can take over and make plays at ease.
<div class="quote_poster">phunDamentalz Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">come on Bobcats, surprise me with one unconventional choice! ah well...can't argue with those</div> Well, I could also go with: Deron Williams Joe Johnson Carmelo Anthony Emeka Okafor Yao Ming Either one would be fine with me.

<div class="quote_poster">Bobcats Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Well, I could also go with: Deron Williams Joe Johnson Carmelo Anthony Emeka Okafor Yao Ming Either one would be fine with me.</div> Now you're talking.... I left off Yao because I wanted a center who could get out and run. And I chose Deron over C. Paul because I think he might be better in a slowed-down game if a team brought that. So the way the pieces fit is important i reckon. <div class="quote_poster">J_Ray Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">And you have a unconventional pick in yours? </div> Well there's no LeBron for one thing.. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Here's mine: PG-Shaun Livingston SG-Luther Head SF-Josh Smith PF-Dwight Howard C-Andris Biedrins</div> brave choices

But I read your question wrong PG- Chris Paul SG- Dwyane Wade SF- Boris Diaw PF- David Lee -C- Dwight Howard I think this team has a bit of everything.
I think Bargnani and Roy should get some consideration later in the season PG- Kirk SG- Carmelo SF- Lebron PF- Bosh C- Dwight = Unstoppable
PG Deron Williams - Fast becoming my favorite 1 in the league SG Cuttino Mobley - Veteran presence, still a good outside shooter and locker room guy SF Shane Battier - Defensive stopper, and he's proving he can score, too. Great all-around player. PF Elton Brand - Tough interior scorer, blue-collar rebounder and leader. I'd love to build a team around guys like him and Williams. C Joel Pryzbilla - I like his rebounding and shot-blocking ability. Bench G/F Desmond Mason - One of my favorite guys, consumate 6th man PG Anthony Johnson - Steady veteran hand for Williams and comes up in the clutch F/C Anderson Varaejo - Energy guy on both ends of the court PF Ike Diogu - A guy I still expect to become a good player G Travis Diener - Hustle guy who can hit some 3s and play defense EDIT - Replaced Dwight with Brand, a more polished and go-to offensive player. If I were a coach, thinking of Deron and Elton running the pick and roll would help me sleep well at night.

PG- Rodriguez SG- Wade SF- G-Force PF- Warrick C- Big Ben The amount of fast-breaks would be mind boggling. Granted Sergio develops the way I know he will.

Sergio is a cool player though, wish i could see him more.
C - Yao PF - Dirk (he'll still be good in 3 years) SF - Lebron SG - Kobe (he'll still be good in 3 years) PG - Wade
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">C - Yao PF - Dirk (he'll still be good in 3 years) SF - Lebron SG - Kobe (he'll still be good in 3 years) PG - Wade</div> <u>Checking if there are enough shots available:</u> This year for players: Wade = 19 FGA/pg Kobe = 20 FGA/pg Lebron = 20 FGA/pg Yao = 18 FGA/pg Dirk = 17 FGA/pg 95 FGA/pg The Lakers last year averaged 80.5 FGA/pg The Rockets averaged 76 FGA/pg last year Phoenix average 87.4 FGA/pg last year. Hmmm I guess if they played at the Suns' pace and all only took 17 FGA/pg and didn't allow the bench to take any shots, then there would be enough shots.
