What do you guys think about starting Bargnani? We lack 3pointers and shooting in our starting lineup and we need a big man who can run. Also, even with the trend these days to go small, I dont feel comfortable with Garbo at the 5. I was thinking about a lineup that looks like:

    PG: Ford
    SG: Parker / Jones
    SF: Garbajosa
    PF: Bosh
    C: Bargnani

Starting would also give him a chance to build chemistry with the team. It would also build his confidence. Another upside is, that we don't have to start Jones.

    What do you guys think?

not a bad idea, but I dont think Bargyani can guard the big centers in the league if you start him at center.
Bringing parker off the bench will be better IMO, if you decide to start Bargs. You need someone to mix it up with calderon. Seems to me that the international players play better team defence when on the floor than the rest of the group. IMO.

We need rebounding. Bargnani can't provide us with that right now. Until he improves in that area, I don't think he should be starting for us.

That will be our lineup in the future but to me, that lineup has the problem with beng too perimeter oriented. 4/5 of that lineup: Bargs, Garbs, Bosh, Parker/Jones will stay out in the perimeter and shoot jump shots.

I 1/2 agree with that .. Bargnani isn't getting boards himself but he is tipping a fair # of shots to his teammates who are getting boards. He's showing improvement on boxing his man out etc... I think that someone else could make a greater impract on the boards for us but Bargnani isn't quite as bad as the stats indicate.

I still prefer to bring him off the bench, at this point. We get to control the situations he's in when we do and I doubt he's ready to face starting-level talent yet. We've seen signs that he's getting used to the NBA game, but I want to see consistency last for several weeks, before we consider starting him. It's only been a couple games so far.

Yea I think we need good rebounders in the starting line, and Bargnani brings a nice spark off the bench. It seems sometimes we outscore our opponents when our bench players come in.
