I just heard from John Clayton on ESPN that it looks as though Testaverde will start on Sunday. IMO they didn't really give Bollinger a chance. He didn't get to really throw the ball until the second half and he <u>was</u> playing against the Ravens defense. And if they did start him this week it would've probably been another bad game b/c the Jets are goin against the undefeated Tampa Bay Bucs and their great defense.
They made the right decision to start Vinny, he's a seasoned veteran, he knows what the NFL is all about, they can't let their franchise rest on the shoulders of a kid who is questionable when it comes to all that
Right now, nobody knows what Herm is going to do.Ive heard about 4 reports of Vinny playing and 4 of Bollinger playing. I think Herm is trying to put off announceing it to try and force Tampa Bay to gameplan for both QB's.
Good stratagy, but the best choice would be Vinny, don't you agree? And did you hear anything about Favre saying he wanted a 3 year deal w/ the Jets next year?
Actually, No.The worst possible choice would be Vinny. Also the one that Herm Edwards just announced in his Press Conference. Why would you announce Vinny starting now? At least make up some injury and put Bollinger as questionable to really confuse the Bucs.As for our better QB. Bollinger knows the Offensive system. Bollinger played with the Jets first team almost all of preseason when Chad was injured. Bollinger is familiar with the players in the offense and Bollinger played a mistake free game against one of the top defenses in the league in the Baltimore Ravens and actually played much better in the second half then he did in the first half. He was progressing and had a chance to be a decent QB, but now that hes thrown behind Vinny he is never going to get another chance to succeed unless Vinny gets hurt.Vinny does not know our current offensive system, Vinny knows the Paul Hackett offense, not the Mike Heimerdinger offense. Vinny doesnt know the playbook being that he just came in last week and is trying to learn it from scratch, and the proven fact that Vinny forces passes and throws alot of interceptions. He is an old and washed up QB since 2002 and has no buisness playing in the NFL anymore. Here is to a 1-15 season and Herm getting fired in the offseason now.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (JHair @ Oct 5 2005, 06:38 AM)</div><div class='quotemain'>And did you hear anything about Favre saying he wanted a 3 year deal w/ the Jets next year?</div> The Favre part is complete media speculation. There is 0% Chance of him playing for the Jets...ever. The main reason is because we are going to be Paying Pennington 12 million next year and whoever we bring in is going to need to backload that contract so that we dont need to spend 20 million on the Quarterback position and Favre wont do that with his age.
I thought Pennington would never play the same again after tearing that rotator cuff twice, is he gonna start again next year?

He lets Fabini play and were lucky Bollinger didnt get killed in the process. The best he can would have not been letting Chad play injured in the first place. He has completly mismanaged this team this entire season and he deserves to go.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (JHair @ Oct 5 2005, 06:51 AM)</div><div class='quotemain'>I thought Pennington would never play the same again after tearing that rotator cuff twice, is he gonna start again next year?</div> We still have to pay him, weather it is his cap hit from cutting him, or his base salary, both of which are 12 million for next season and its unlikely he will restructure his deal now.

Thats just how it is. Favre is notorious for taking hits and playing injured, Donovan McNabb has been playing injured the entire season despite the surgery he needs, no coach is gonna force their players to go on the feild, but if the QB can run, talk, and move his arm you will usually see him on the field with any team that is serious about winning.I don't know much about the Jets but is someone backing up Fabini who is a better blocker than he is?
Playing injured, and coming back 5 months early from Torn Rotator Cuff surgery (quite possibly the most serious injury a QB could have) are 2 completly different things.Scott Gragg would be the one in Fabinis place. Gragg is a journeyman OT who has started at several places in his career. But at this point, I could play Offensive Tackle better then Fabini does and I only weigh 190.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I could play Offensive Tackle better then Fabini does and I only weigh 190.</div>Then they should get him off the feild, like you said
Coming back 5 months early from the torn rotator cuff injury like Venom said is not good. It doesn't matter what the QB himself says. If the doctor and coach know he's not ready then they should've sat him down and been like "Hey kid, we know u want to play but ur risking ur career and we are going to need u in the long run." But instead that dumass coach (no offense to any Jet fans)screws everything up.
