...A little over a month until the season is under way!

As you well know, every summer things slow down and before you know it the season is around the corner. I checked ESPN.com today (don't ask why I still check it, I'm doing so less often!) and saw that the season is only 38 days away! Thry also asked if the Blazers are too young to contend. While I don't expect to be contending next season, I do expect to be watching the development of a team that some time in the next few years will be contending. I am really feeling good about the moves this offseason, something that grows truer the more I think about it.

I am really looking forward to seeing how Ed Davis can enhance his game over the next few years. Dude is a beast on D and could even get better.

This next season is definitely going to be fun, and it is very nearly here!

Thank goodness for that, the OT section is wearing me down. I think the new story lines with the new roster are going to be a breath of fresh air instead of the same old story lines about guys whom we've invested years in watching. Davis is an interesting piece..I think we will have the best bench we've had in years.

That is a good point about the bench. I had not thought about that. I don't kno that next year will be the year for that, but I definitely think we have enough young talent that we can look forward through development without having to rely on trades or free agency. Not to say we shouldn't use those, but rather that we look to be in pretty good shape as is.

I was sure Olshey was going to make another move, and maybe he has plans to do so during the season. However part of me wonders if they are content with the way things are right now, and want to give it a season seeing these guys play together before they make a move... See who is compatible with who, who plays into each others strengths etc...

There are so many unknowns going into training camp. Harkless, Montero, Alexander, Pressy, Conaughton...hard to say who will take rotation spots with the second unit.
One of Dame's earlier interviews he said he was excited about playing with Harkless and Davis..I thought it was interesting he singled them out from all the guys we brought in.

I'm sure it's going to be addition by subtraction this season and we'll see who sticks. I think if we look better than expected, Neil will try to bring an elite wing player into the mix at the deadline.

If everyone likes Davis, that disqualifies him from being my Favorite Player of the Year. He had been my top candidate till now. I always pick an unknown.

In pre-draft tryouts, draft candidates get to know each other. Maybe in this case (2012); I don't know.

I'm excited for the season too, though I hope we don't eek into the playoffs. If we eek into the playoffs, we lose our first round draft pick, because of Aaron Fucking Affalo.

I would expect you to be more excited than anyone else considering Aldridge is no longer on the team.

Soon I'll be able to make my presence felt again since I'm usually MIA in the offseason :)

Yes, that is like a breath of fresh air. He's loss is addition by subtraction. I think the only big loss is Wesley Matthews.

It'll be nice to have normal nonshooting PFs, unless Stotts tries to have Leonard shoot too much. Just give me a conventional, not a PF-centric, offense.

Oh.....hope those 38 days go fast. I am growing tired of looking for Blazers news everyday...to find nothing. We can only analyze the new guys so many times before the season starts. Here's a to a healthy exciting season! What will be will be.
