These are players who were drafted outve highschool or out Europe who teams just put them on the end of the bench, and decided to put them away and develope them for the future. Do you think we're going to see these guys turn out to be good players...even stars?Examplesorrel WrightAndrew BynumLouis WilliamsTravis Outlaw(not really anymore)Al Jefferson(obviously a successful one)What other players are like these...and will the Wrights, Williams and Bynums become stars cause of their development by NBA teams?
Cedric Simmons on the Hornets will probably be a stash-away for the next season or so, and I'm still waiting on Antoine Wright on the Nets.
I think Andrew Bynum next season could average 10/10 and eventually will be a 20/10 guy. Now that mihm is gone( I believe he is a free agent) Bynum will see some significant minutes and the guy has some serious potential as much as gerald green I believe.

Some of these players may have come out of this role but were Stash-away players at one point or likely will become stash-away in the future.Andray BlatcheOleksiy Pecherov (Likely will become one)Sebastien TelfairShaun LivingstonMonta Ellis (Succesful)Anderson VarejaoBeno UdrihLouis WilliamsCJ MilesRobert SwiftMost of these guys will be bench players for the rest of their short careers. However guys like Monta Ellis, Andray Blatche, and Anderson Varejao have proven that they will be in the league for some time to come. There are still alot of questions surrounding all these players.
Shawne has to get quicker if he wants to play in this league...I think hes very Antoine Walker like though...

I think if Louis Williams is put in the right situation he can turn himself into a great player.. If he gets time on the court, there's no doubt he can be a top scorer but he's not a great defender(like many HS'ers) and he lacks PG skills..

This year he should be in a much better situation. But he does have range
Shawne Williams shouldve just stayed at Memphis...imagine him being on the team last season..If he gets quicker he will be a good player. Hes athletic, with more quickness he can be a very good defender, good passer, can score on the perimeter and the post, solid rebounder, nice decision maker...its just quickness, comfort and some more hardwork he has to get through.
I don't know if al jefferson really fits in the same category as these guys. He's about the same age as the others, but he averaged a double-double as a starter last year. He's definitely progressed a lot faster than the other players on the list.

The Celtics drafted him because it was clear that he could be very dangerous in the future and Ainge was clearly correct. Jefferson was put in a starting position this season and broke out. Many of the guys on this list could potentially do what Big Al did. Jefferson was a project that became very very rewarding.

Just because he came out of high school doesn't put him in that category. Even last year, in his sophomore year he got good playing time and decent numbers when he was healthy. He was hardly at the end of the bench, like mostly all of the other players listed.
How was he a major factor in the playoffs? He averaged 19 minutes and 6ppg starting in none of the games. His rookie season he only averaged 14mpg, and the next only 18mpg. Al Jefferson obviously progressed ALOT faster than the others...but when Boston took him they knew he was going to get little minutes but the coaching staff would progress him along...and a future all-star is the result.Btw, I didnt say he was a stash-away player this season...cause for a large part of the season, Jefferson was the main focus of the Boston offense.
