Although, no official announcement has been made NFL.com is reporting that the Pittsburgh Steelers have extended Mike Tomlin’s contract for 3 seasons at an average of 4.8 million dollars per year. Tomlin was heading into his final “Guaranteed” year under his former contract, which included a optional clause that would have kept him in Pittsburgh through 2011/2012 season. Tomlin’s three year deal is tacked onto the one year that was left on his former contact. Which, means Tomlin is in Pittsburgh for four more years unless the Steelers decide to let Tomlin go. Tomlin’s new deal comes at a time where it should help calm the Steeler’s locker room and Steeler’s fans. Knowing that their head coach is here to stay after the Roethlisberger term-oil and not making the playoffs last season will help restore stability and leadership to the locker room. Which, is a key to getting the players focused on a seventh Superbowl. http://netdugout.com/chicago/2010/07/jdahlstrom/steelers-extend-mike-tomlins-contract-for-3-years/
