will AV make a change? hate to break up any lines, the best line is zooks line, where do put step,,, on bench?????
I wouldn't bench him but he certainly isn't doing enough. Maybe this will finally convince alot of people that he's really not even a good #2. He's part of the reason Nash isn't more productive on the stat sheet. The first step this summer is training like Richards did to get back in condition.
i believe that they need to keep him there with nash and krieder, hes been playing better and we been winning so why change, this series is going to pretty much decide where he stands, if they put suban on nash line then the zucc line needs to shine and i believe they will, if they put suban on the zucc line nash stepn krieder need to blow up..... hopefully they will not sure... i know that goals comes in bunches so as soon as one comes they will start pouring in (hopefully). No sense to swap richards with stepan because stepan never really played well with hagelin and hagelin been playing pretty good with richards . Keep the same stuff Like why would you swap lines then all of a sudden we are down 0-2 and everybody gonna be like OMG AV FIRE AV OMG!! HE SUCKS HE SWAPPED LINES AFTER WINNING 3 In a row. serioulsy. we just won why would we start changing shit.
It all goes back to the slotting problem which can't be changed at this point, the roster is what it is, but next year Hagelin should be on a 3rd or 4th line and Stepan should be at best the #2C. Let's face it, the Brassard Pouliot line is really the #2 line.
alright, alright!!! mr sleeps, u keep goin u will blow a gasket... lol anyway i agree, i also feel at this point, nash starts scoring that just mite be our fate.. don't score nash and we win series! getttin goals from the unexpected has probably won more series, and that kind of production prob happens in all major sports..... boone's gran salamee comes to mind
When did your change happen sc? I remember the old days when you were a positive dude. These days our D isn't good. Girardi isn't good. Stepan isn't good. I miss the old sc.... Be happy bro, we are in the ECF. You would never know it with your posts.
I am happy, I'm just pointing out what the deal going forward with Stepan is, and how the roster can be improved going forward. Couldn't we agree Step hasn't been very good most of the year? And I don't think the D isn't good, they are an above average unit, but they still need certain elements to be top grade IMO. We've won without McD and Girardi, and even Staal playing very well which is great. This series will be even more of a test for them but with a little extra rest here that can only help. Montreal's PP worries me though, they can't give up huge cushions for shots. Very happy though with how they've battled here, anything now is gravy. I thought they'd beat both Philly/Pitt in 7 and I'll stand by predicting Mtl in 6 just because I think they're overall quickness will be the difference, and Price dosen't let in many against our O. We'll see.
I do think the Montreal PP will be a big key as well. Biggest reason I feel that way is because I don't see our PP blowing up, which means if the Habs score a handful of PP goals we are behind the 8-ball before we even drop the puck. Their PP could be the difference in the series. But with that said, we did well against Pitt's PP, but they also don't weapon like Subban bombing away from the BL. Going to be a solid series. Clearly Montreal can win. I don't think you and Burnside are crazy for taking the Habs in 6, although I am not sure they will clinch at MSG. This is a tossup series with a slight edge to Montreal since they have home ice. But if we can get our Montreal issues under control and play well up there, I think we'll be in good shape.
Yup, if they can even split the first two it's obviously big, just to feel you can win there in such a big spot. If the PP can even get up to 15% it could make a big difference. MTL speed could result in some extra PP's for them so they need to be technically sound defensively. I could easily see this going 7 I'm just going on a hunch that they lose at home in OT in game 6. Some on here are predicting Rangers in 5 which has very little chance of happening. I honestly think they'd have a better chance of beating Chicago or LA in a series than this one.
Only the 3rd ECF appearance in 17 years....We need to make a rule that there is no discussing offseason plans until the season ends. SC, enjoy the ride....at least while it lasts
SC is not happy these days. He used to be a happy dude. Not sure what happened. Very negative these days.... 2nd ECF in 3 years...good stuff after nothing from 97 to 2012.
We went through this yesterday, youre mistaking happiness for critiquing the subject of the thread and peaking ahead to next year. And Stepan certainly is deserving of some criticism despite the winning. HAPPY THOUGH BOYS!!
I hope so. You just seem unhappy with the team when you knock a lot of the guys (picking Montreal is not crazy so all good there). Anyway, big series. Pumped for game 1 tomorrow.
Stepan warrants criticism for the way he's played most of the year, and contrary to popular belief i do like our D corps, though theyve had some rough moments in the playoffs. None of that matters now though, new series clean slate, but they need to be sharp from here on out. Hopefully they get off to a good start like the other series and get confidence playing up there.
Stepan has been playing better of late just suffering Nash disease (unable to put the puck in the friggin net). Just have to stay with him and nash at this point and hope their scoring luck changes.
