<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Stephon Marbury has a new message for Larry Brown: What took so long to pair him with Steve Francis?

It took a thumb injury to shooting guard Quentin Richardson for Brown to finally start Francis with Marbury in the backcourt Wednesday and they both started again last night in their stunning 105-103 win over Detroit with Richardson still hurt.

Marbury (12) and Francis (15) combined for 27 points on 11-18 shooting, though they were benched for much of the fourth quarter.

Richardson is expected to be out until at least Tuesday but could supplant Francis when he returns. Marbury had been excited about the trade and is baffled at Brown's decision. Even when Brown has gone to the bench, he mostly kept the two apart, perhaps already figuring it doesn't work and will trade Marbury in the summer.

"I thought we were going to be playing together all the time," Marbury said. "I didn't know we wouldn't be on the court at the same time."

Marbury would not comment on the state of his relationship with Brown the day after their uneasy truce. But he wasn't holding back on what he feels should happen the final 19 games.

When told of Brown's defensive fears, Marbury said, "How our record is, it's not going to hurt to try. I want it to work. I don't want to see if it's going to work. We didn't trade for him just to trade for him." </div>

Man I really think Steph has a point. Larry Brown is looking really stupid right now in my mind because we all know how good Stephon Marbury can be when he is let loose. He also WANTS to play with Steve Francis and they are two All Star caliber guards. Larry Brown play them please.

Well, I can see why Brown wouldn't want to pair them. It could be the second coming of Francis and Cuttino, the two man show. I didn't get to the actual game, but where they really effective together or were teammates alienated?

they were suppose to play most minutes and take most shots in my mind, but its not like this.... jalen rose and some other role players are taking more shots playing more minutes than them

I would really love two see these two on the court at the same time. At this point for the Knicks it doesn't hurt to try it. Both are great players and who knows this may be a sweet one, two punch.

It really wouldn't hurt starting the two together. Marbury actually wants to play with Francis, and if Francis is the same then that could be one devestating force.

Is Larry Brown resistiant to new ideas? Putting Franchise and Starbury on the floor togother sounds like opposing coaches' worst nightmare. Remeber Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars? It can work.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didnt Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars play defense? That's probably the biggest reason why those two dont start together. It would be a defensive nightmare which is the Knicks biggest problem. Another reason why they dont start together is because other guys wont be able to get involved. Curry would never see the ball unless he crashes the offensive glass(in other words Curry would never get the ball). So enough of this Marbury-Francis starting together talk. And especially stop comparing it to Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars.

Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

I don't think Isiah Thomas will have his job much longer. If they (Francis and Marbury) aren't going to play much togother, then why did Isiah trade for Francis? Is Francis a backup plan for Starbury if the Knicks decide to trade him this summer?? Or is it the other way around?? Either way.. Isiah still needs to be fired. The Knicks need somebody like Jerry West.

I would like to have Francis playing. He's an awesome player, and he's going to play well because he's actually in a place where he wants to be. Larry Brown is sure messing things for us this season, and Thomas has screwed us for years to come. I don't know if there's going to be anyway to turn this franchise around.

if they don't play together much, then that was a waste of a trade. I really believe both of those guys are getting shipped offed for someone else.
