devean george needs to stfu because he's a moron. please allow the grown ups to take care of this because negotiating in the media is only going to infuriate the other side, there is nothing to be gained from such a move. from a players perspective, here are my non-starters -hard cap because it only rewards the upper echelon players and everyone else is relegated to shorter deals (look at the nhl) -our share of the pie cannot be under 50% from a fan's perspective -hard cap will ruin the poorly managed teams and the traditional powerhouses who could spend without regard to finances under the current system -to that end, the nhl has a hard cap and increasingly u're seeing teams give long term deals (e.g 10 years sometimes) to players they deem to be franchise type guys. if their performance dips or curtailed by injury woes- the team finds itself in a precarious situation with no mechanism to improve the team from a owner's perspective -get rid of guaranteed contracts -retain the soft cap but get rid of the larry bird exception
