What does anyone think about Stevie Blake's NBA potential? He's definitely a pure point, who can check up on D as good as anyone, but is his game too limited to make an impact in the League?

Personally, I don't think he'll be great backup PG. Picture Jamaal Tinsley with top notch D, legit 3pt range, but with a drop in handles and ability to set up teammates.

i like blake, and the terps, but i think he'll be an average pg, i don't think he'll be too great.

what do you guys think of drew nicholas? he's doing pretty good, and had the big game winner that kept them in the tournament in the 1st round

Drew Nicholas is a shooter, but not much else. Even though I'm a big Terps fan, I don't see his game translating to the NBA, especially since he's already a Senior.

But a strong showing in Chicago this summer can put anyone on the map, he has shown he wants to take and can make, clutch shots.

He could probably help someone off the bench in a few years.

I don't think Blake has the athleticism or speed to defend and compete against the NBA guards. He's a great college player, but his game is not catered for the NBA level. I look at how slow Juan Dixon is developing, and he was better than Blake in college. Blake might make it as a backup somewhere, but I don't see him starting for an NBA team. Marland hasn't had a great history of having their star players become stars in the NBA. The last was Steve Francis.

    Underachieving
    ------
    Joe Smith
    LaRon Profit
    Juan Dixon
    Lonny Baxter
    Chris Wilcox
    Terence Morris
    Obinna Ekezie
    Keith Booth

give dixon, wilcox, and baxter a break, they aren't even done with their 1st season. it takes a while to get used to the nba level, i think wilcox will be pretty good next season or the season after(when the clips lose all their fa's). and btw dixon has played pretty good while larry hughes was injured. terrance morris hasn't had many minutes or touches to be judged as a failure so far.

profit and ekezie have been disappointing though.

smith is solid, but nothing special.

Juan is a good player when he has a lot of minutes. Also fans pay to see juan. Wilcox is not doin good cuz hez playin in a team with lots of good forwards personally i think wilcox should hav stayed at maryland. And baxter doesn't get many mins. So they aren't "underacheiving" yet. I think blake can be a good point guard in the nba. He will probly be an averege scorer but will easilly find his teammates and will have his asssits per game near Gp and Kidd

Juan Dixon is a great shooter, once he gets more minutes he'll play much better. I think Steve Blake will be ok, but wont be anything more than a Derrel Armstrong or something

    blake is listed at 6'3"...

i think he has potential but we'll see...someone will pick him up in the draft and give him a shot...he can make it but he does need to improve...

and i dont think anyone should be bashing dixon...he has been playing better than a number of players taken in front of him in the draft...he's been solid coming off the bench for the Wizards and has posted a few big games this season...plus he has determination and heart that hardly anyone in the NBA can even come close to matching...he'll make it in the NBA...

juan dixon is doin good with the wiz but they need someone to fill MJ's shoes next year...stackhouse didn't do it....he was better on the pistons. Kwame needs to do some preseason work cuz he could be good....Juan need more experience and minutes to compare to AI or Nash to name a few
