Former Indiana basketball star Steve Downing has been hired as Marian University's new athletic director. Downing returns to his home state after spending the last 10 years as Texas Tech's senior associate director of athletics. At Marian, an NAIA school in Indianapolis, he will oversee a department that has more than 400 athletes competing in 21 sports.
