I'm sure I'm not the only one who has heard whispers linking Francis and Seattle. Of course they are only whispers floating around at this stage, and I'm assuming they are brought about by the well known fact that Francis (aka Spoilt Brat) has followed up his draft day antics by claiming he doesn't want to play in Orlando. Personally I hope these rumours are nothing but speculation, as while Francis is talented and I would curious to see him as a shooting guard, I would rather not have him. He can be a selfish baller, he would certainly not help Ridnour's development and his attitude is questionable. There's no doubt he plays hard, but what sort of a player feels he can pick and choose where he is traded?
Talent wise, I would love to have Steve Francis wear green and gold. Team chemistry wise, I hope he never dons a Sonics uni in his life. If he could work well and produce at the 2 spot, then I don't see why we shouldn't go after him...but that's just wishful thinking at this stage.
Well I've been hearing deals that Orlando would trade Francis & possibly Gooden for Ray Allen. Giving up Gooden seems like a little much for me, but I'd love to have Allen in a Magic uni. Since the deal would be linked to Orlando - it would all depend on the current Houston situation. As you have probably read the deal is looking in other directions. Apparently Orlando has been in discussion with the Suns regarding McGrady for Marion, Johnson, and the #7 pick.

Man I dont want to see Francis in Seattle, the only place I want to see him is probably Orlando. AND for RAY ALLEN this is the worst trade ever, Allen has much more talent than stevie.
i have herd that "if" he goes to orlando he will demad a trade because he said he doesnt want to play there. and i herd that orlando wants a player from the sonics (cant remeber who) that they can get with francis and they want gilbert arenas from washington so it will be interesting to watch but if i was orlando then i wouldnt trade tmac to hosten because they would have to trade francis they should trade him for players that would like to play there
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The much-anticipated trade of superstar Tracy McGrady to the Houston Rockets could bring both Seattle all-star guard Ray Allen and Miami Heat small forward Caron Butler, in one of several, multiteam scenarios still being considered by the Orlando Magic. General Manager John Weisbrod -- on the eve today's NBA draft -- refused to talk about any trade specifics involving McGrady, but NBA sources confirmed the interest of both Seattle and Miami in being part of a deal. ------------------------ Francis, also an all-star, likely would be traded elsewhere. Would he play as a two guard?
It's a fine trade if we get another player to share the scoring duties with Francis. I don't trust Rashard Lewis anymore and Ronald Murray is too similar to Steve, so there would have to be another trade.
It'd be interesting to have a scoring backcourt combo of Murray & Francis, and then to just trade Lewis and whoever else for defensive bangers to try and create a team in the mold of Detroit.. Truth be told, I just want a CHANGE. It's apparent that the Sonics won't be going very far with what we have right now. Swapping superstars may or may not elevate us to our old playoff form, but at least we'll have something to look forward to next season
