Kerr, who helped facilitate Sarver's opportunity to buy the Suns, has been one of Sarver's trusted advisors in basketball decisions over the past three years.D'Antoni will maintain the title of Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations but will report to Kerr, a former University of Arizona star and Suns player who won has five NBA championship rings from playing with Chicago and San Antonio. Kerr has worked as a TNT analyst since 2003.
Good News: This takes the GM hat off of D'Antoni which creates a 2nd opinion within the organization instead of everything going through D'Antoni.Bad News: This more than likely means David Griffin will leave the team for another team's GM role (god damn it memphis stop raiding our organization :ranting

Wow, I can't picture Kerr as a GM. I am going to miss him in the both with Marv Albert, he was funny. This is good though, you really don't want one guy to make all the decisions. This way you get two peoples point of views on things.
Wow, this came out of nowhere. Like HornetsFan said, I had no idea Kerr was even being considered for a position like this. I didn't even know he expressed great interest in it. I'm shocked, I have no idea how he'll do, but I think he's a smart guy. I'll miss him on the broadcasts, he and Marv have great chemistry. Hopefully he does a nice job.

Yeah like yall above, I never knew Kerr was EVER considered for this or any front office job. He just doesn't seem like a GM or anything.Oh well, only good news for my team

I mean I like Kerr and I really hope he does good, but I don't think this is a very smart move by the Suns. I like the idea of bringing in somebody to take away the GM powers of D'Antoni so he could focus on coaching, but this takes guts. They must really have a good feeling about Kerr and what he can do.

Steve Kerr has been a consultant for Sarver ever since he bought the team so he has had to have some type of input on what the organization has done over the past few seasons.
wow, Kerr a GM? I guess anythings possible in this days NBA.but Yeah, TNT will prob go back to Marv/Czar for their broadcasts
Steve Kerr seems like a common sense/bright guy. His players are for the most part locked in so he can't do too much to screw it up.
