Steve Kerr was actually born in Beirut, Lebanon. On January 18, 1984, Kerr saw his life drastically change when his father, who was then serving as president of the American University of Beirut, was murdered by Islamic militants in Lebanon.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Kerr His dad was some American- Middleeast expert who worked all over in the middle-east. Wow, this is really kind of sad...when you think of Steve Kerr...what happened early in his life is pretty shocking.
Holy moly. The things people go through. Makes me admire Steve...to overcome something like that to play in the NBA. WOW
That is definitely not something I thought I would see in Steve Kerr's life story.Very Sad :shok:
Pretty shocking. I always thought Steve Kerr grew up with a happy childhood... I'm appalled.
yeah kerr is the kind of guy that you think would have grown up in the suburbs of some big town. thats sad though
I knew about this. I kind of thought that this was sort of common knowledge. I've heard him talk about being born in Lebanon in the past. Also, guys, he isn't Arab or anything like that, he's American. He has the whole duel citizenship thing going. He attended high school in California. But yeah, this is very sad about his dad. It happened when he was around 20 years old. Don't know how I would take something like that.

A child shouldn't have to grow up with no father ... :/ I suppose if it was a girl it doesn't need a father. GILMORE GIRLS!!!
Guys, he didnt grow up without him. When his father was killed, he was already out of high school and playing at Arizona. Yes its sad, but he had him during his childhood.

I feel bad for him, that's just terrible. I would have never thought anything like that would have occured in his life. That's a real shame.
