Stockton Kings Slide Past Lakeland Magic, 101-99

    The Stockton Kings (20-12), the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, slid past the Lakeland Magic (20-12) the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic in a 101-99 in a close game Sunday afternoon.

    Stockton started out strong, shooting 50% from the field in the first quarter compared to Lakeland shooting 14.3%. Lakeland guard Troy Caupain scored 11 of his 19 points in the second period. Stockton saw their biggest lead of the night with 44 seconds remaining in the third period, when they led by 19 points. Lakeland came back in the fourth quarter and cut the lead down to one point with seconds remaining in regulation, but Stockton came out with the win.

    Caupain posted 19 points, six rebounds and three assists and Lakeland center Amile Jefferson added 17 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.

    Stockton saw seven players in double figures. Stockton center Daniel Ochefu posted a double-double with 17 points, 16 rebounds and three assists. Stockton forward Wenyen Gabriel scored 13 points to go along with nine rebounds and four assists off the bench.

    Stockton will head on the road to face the Santa Cruz Warriors on Wednesday, February 6 at 7 p.m. This game can be viewed via ESPN+.

    Stockton will return home to host the Salt Lake City Stars on February 13 at 10 a.m. for Education and Youth Mental Health Awareness Day. This game can be viewed via ESPN+.
