i have to go with stockton for the obvious reasons. Number 1 all-time in assists and steals. Great court vision. Great shooting % for his career at 51.5%. Clutch player. One of the smartest players ever to play the game. Great teammate. Great defender. Great Assist to turnover ratio. Very durable, almost never injured.played in 1300 of a possible 1504 games during his career. Most likely the 2nd best point guard of all time behind Magic Johnson. Jason Kidd is pretty good at all of those listed above, its just that Stockton is better than him in all of them. Kidd is just a better rebounder.

this is actually very close, but i'll take stockton. Stockton may have had more steals, but JKidd was definitely a better defender. But stockton was the ultimate PG. All-time leader in assists (already been said), always a team player, if he didn't have in his wasy we might be talking about his championships right now.

Whats that mean? Did he do something to cost the Jazz a championship?

Oo Jordan in his way...Well you could say that for a lot of people then lol. Jordan stoped alot of people from winning it all.
It's very close for me. Jason was a better transition passer, as from what I've seen Stockton primarily got his assists in halfcourt sets. That being said, Stockton was the better halfcourt passer. I'm going to call that about even, beause Kidd has never had a guy like Karl Malone to get the ball to.Shooting wise, John Stockton was the better shooter, but Jason was the better scorer. Jason in his prime would get to the rim at anytime, and finish with either hand with ease. He got alot of points in transition by simply dribbling around guys like pylons. However, Stockton was the superior shooter, and could be counted upon to hit open jumpers with consistency.Defensively, Stockton was better in terms of playing the passing lanes, but Kidd was a better one on one defender. Just this year, during the Nets 14 game winning streak, no palyer in the NBA was playing better one on one defense than Jason Kidd. So, both are simular offensive players. Comparable scorers. Good defenders in their own right. Stockton and Kidd have also both been to the Finals twice (Where Stockton was upheld by the greatest player ever, and Kidd was upheld by the greatest power forward ever)Right now, I simply can't decide
Great post, agree with everything you said. He goit stoped by Jordan, and we got stoped by the Lakers dynasty and Duncan.
Stockton definatly, he never got hurt, he shot over 50%, 40% from three, tons of steals and a great leader.
