Stop the Madness

Please help stop Marc Ecko's ridiculous attempt to have Barry Bonds 756th home run ball be vandalized or destroyed. Visit the link below and vote to bestow the ballto the Hall of Fame. Thank you.

I disagree. Bonds is a disgrace to baseball, and his homerun ball should be branded before being sent to the hall of fame.

    Branding it would own.

Blast it into space! That's by far the most amusing and culturally iconic outcome of the three.Forty years from now, I want to be able to tell my grandkids, "I remember when they shot Barry Bonds' home run ball to the god damned moon!"

A record is a record. He may be a jerk, but he's the homerun king. The ball should be in the Hall of Fame. Sending it to the moon seems a little childish. Seeing how Bonds would probably not care at all even if they did do it, it wouldn't really serve a purpose.

Well I think it should be in the hall with an asterisk or not. It is a piece of history.

He got the record because he took steroids. Baseball in general is a joke because of the amount of people who have cheated. Barry Bonds shouldn't even be allowed to play another game.

I understand what you are saying, but why should he be penalized if he didn't test positive? Just because he's not a nice guy? Why is he not innocent until proven guilty?

I'm not saying he's innocent. What I'm saying is that there are no facts that he took steroids. He hasn't been found guilty. If you don't have any facts, and yet you don't put him in the hall of fame, then how is he any more guilty than anyone else. As a Nets fan, do you know that Nenad did or didn't take steroids this offseason when he gained ten pounds of strength? How is he any less guilty than Bonds if you can't prove that either guy did or didn't take steroids? If he had taken steroids and gotten caught, he would have been suspended. He never was. So why is he allowed to still play the games, but not allowed to be in the hall?

Even if you don't like the guy, it's obviously a hot topic. Shouldn't that be enought to put it in the Hall of Fame so that it can be seen fifty years from now?

But then we're being very negligent and rude to any advanced alien races who want to view the ball. Let's face it, not blasting this damned ball into to space could set off an intergalactic hyperwar.

Must say, not all that impressed with Bonds lashing out at Ecko. I understand the frustration, but it isn't as if he couldn't have poniedup to get the ball back if he were that worried about it. He's being paid sixteen million this year, which for a forty-three year old outfielder with no arm, little legs, and playing on a terrible team, is certainly a markup. So toss a million to this Murphy kid, secure your legacy. I guesshe would rather have another fifteen stories on the Barry Bonds Imperial Palace he's building.

Exactly. Geez, people love to point fingers at people they don't like. But what about all the guys who've cheated through the years who were loved by fans? What if it was proved that Cal cheated and did roids in the middle of his career? Should he be pulled out of the hall?

What about guys like Ty Cobb who were notorious cheaters, even when they were playing?

I hope the ball gets vandalized and then burned.

I think Ecko was stupid and is an idiot for putting up his 756 website .

I rather have seen the ball go to the HOF as is. I would guess we're going to see a lot of branded items in the hall now since we know a lot of other players have cheated and are cheating .
