The Tampa Bay Storm have acquired defensive backs Pat Clark, Ken Heatly and Wondy Pierre-Louis announced Head Coach Dave Ewart. Both Heatly and Pierre-Louis participated in the Storm's open tryout on February 12. "Wondy and Ken each stood out at the recent workout," said Ewart. "We wanted to add some depth to the defensive backfield and those two, with the addition of Pat, provide us with young guys that we can work with to get better." Clark (5-foot-11, 178 lbs., Georgia Tech) played all four years at GT, however began his career as a wide receiver. After his sophomore season he moved to defensive back. He played in 38 games and recorded 16 receptions for 106 yards, returned 35 punts for 210 yards and added 31 tackles, one tackle for a loss and an interception defensively. Clark played his prep football in Jacksonville, FL at Mandarin High School. Heatly (5-11, 180, Bethune-Cookman) last played with the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League in 2008 and recorded 38 tackles, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery. He was originally signed by the Detroit Lions in 2004 as an undrafted rookie free agent. In two seasons at Bethune-Cookman, Heatly recorded 100 tackles, four interceptions and 35 PBUs. He was born in Saint Petersburg and attended Boca Ciega High School. Pierre-Louis (6-1, 190, Florida) appeared in 52 games with the Gators and collected 71 tackles, three interceptions, six PBUs, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He participated in workouts with the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants this past year. While at UF, Wondy was also a member of the track team and won the Class 4A titles in long jump and triple jump as a junior at Lely High School in Naples Florida. The Storm opened training camp today at Skyway Park (3901 George Road) in Tampa and will continue to practice there all week from 8:30 AM to 12:30PM. The team will play two preseason games, first in Jacksonville against the Sharks on Monday, February 28 at 7:00 PM and then at home (St. Pete Times Forum) against the Orlando Predators on Thursday, March 3 at 7:30 PM. The Storm are universally recognized as one of the leading teams in the Arena Football League, setting numerous attendance records in its 23 years.
