<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">All of the Warriors play video games--at home, on road trips or in the new players lounge, which is equipped with two televisions, sofas, cushy chairs, a pool table, a fridge, a PlayStation, an Xbox and an impressive library of games. Pietrus says he plays video games to forget about basketball, and Richardson calls it an "entertaining way to pass the time." Which brings us to the million-dollar question: Do they play as themselves when they play NBA Live, NBA Inside Drive, NBA Street, etc.?

"Nah, my brother plays as me, and I am always Kobe or (the Rockets' Tracy) McGrady," Pietrus says. "I watch them on television all the time, and then I become them on the PlayStation."

    Richardson is always himself.

"I averaged 55 points a game one season, no assists," he says. "Whenever I got one, it was by mistake."

    No assists? Bad J-Rich! [IMG]

And poor Pietrus, always wanting to be like Mike/Kobe/T-Mac.

Did anyone see that pic where Pietrus is at the Metreon getting his PSP the day it came out? Great article. I was reading an article on Biedrins and they said he plays video games alot in his apartment too.

I always play as Brian Cardinal. That gangsta can flat out ball, I tells you. Especially when I crank his dunk stats to 99 and make him burn Allen Iverson with his own killer crossover move and then straight down down the lane for a 40 inch vertical, slamma jamma right on top of Shaq's shiny dome, causing him and the guy next to him to duck for cover. Blaowww!

And not only that, he throws a one man block party for the other suckers foolish enough NOT to settle for the jumper. We're talking pure domination, baby, a true franchise player that graces the covers of every sports illustrated, box of wheaties or sprite/nestle crunch bar commercial.

Personally, I can't stand playing too much video game basketball because I get a big, fat vein in my forehead when the computer cheats. If anybody plays NBA live 2005 for the PC, the computer freakin' travels and doesn't get called. I guess I should be grateful Shaq isn't shooting 3 pointers anymore at the buzzer with the new version, but I hate how the computer picks up the dribble, goes into triple threat position and takes off with a second dribble. Computer also mauls your best players by throwing their body at them in midair.

I wonder if Jason Richardson edits his character so that he doesn't have a headband, because for some reason the game always has him wearing one.

Lol what difficulty do you play on? I master the computer on every level until All-star then i always leadby 2-5 points and in the last minute the computer hits like 3 3s in a row. Now i play more NBA 2k5 though. Live was really arcade-like, the only thing fake about 2k5 is some of the trades the computer offers you. (the computer offered me Dalembert and a second rounder for Rodney white and i gladly accepted)

I put it on the hardest mode. I still kick the computer's butt since they can't d up (only their slowest guys move faster and they make more ridiculous shots), but I hate how they cheat and all the extra work I have to do in moving guys off the ball to receive the pass. Favorite player in the game has been either Gilbert Arenas or Baron Davis because I absolutely own anybody I play with them.

Every B-ball game seems to have Baron as the 2nd or 3rd best PG but no one can shoot, steal and assist like him. In my franchise Baron averages 17ppg, 2 rpg, 12 ast, and 7 steals. He has to be one of the most complete virtual players. Before we got Baron i always used to play as Arenas he was my favorite Wariior when we had him. (I have an away Warriors jersey of him and still wear it occasionally)

I just like playing any of the 6'3 guards that can run, jump, bomb 3's and dunk. I mean how cool is that? I mean the point guard has the ball in his hands anyway, so I might as well play the point.

Well, it's good to hear that they don't hang out and smoke something suspicious [IMG]. I wonder if any of them plays 50 hours long RPGs instead of sports games...

I doubt it. All you ever hear any athletes talking about is Madden.

That's what the offseason is probably for [IMG] Imagine Biedrins and his 7 feet and over gang just all red-eyed invading the nearest Denny's or Jack in the box drive-thru at 3 am in the morning.

Now that would be a trip: Hearing Jrich prattle on about his level 50 cleric to his teammates. "I slayed those chocobos like it was nobody's business!"

I've wasted many hours on Final Fantasy on playstation and I'm not proud of it.

I wonder what video games Mike Dunleavy plays? He seems like a Mario Kart kind of guy.

Grand Theft Auto is what I think Dunleavy plays. Imagine the white guy beating up the muchachos.....

^ Haha, that would be crazy, Dun playing GTA. Or, maybe Dun's a big Dance Dance Revolution Fan. You'd never know those guys who were fans of the game until you randomly see them and start laughin' your butt off. [IMG]

I don't think Dun's feet are fast enough for DDR [IMG] J/K

As for Dun doing "drive-by" missions for the Yardies or jackin cars and racing them again El Burro in GTA 3, I could also definitely see him doing that. Sometimes, the quiet ones are usually the crazy ones. [IMG]

I wonder what would be more shocking... Dunleavy and Murphy playing perfect combo in DDR, Foyle playing terrorist in Counter Strike, or Davis crying while playing FF7...

I think Dunleavy and Murphy playing defense is more shocking, actually. [IMG]

In Counter-Strike, here's how I would think the Warriors would play if they all played against each other on that one desert map.

Foyle - Camps that bridge near the bombsite, favorite weapon: that annoying big sniper gun that kills you in one shot

Pietrus - the guy who has the bomb (but doesn't know he has it) and gets killed right in the middle of that big hallway so nobody else on his team can get to it.

Richardson - the guy that likes to hop around and knife the people with guns that can't aim

Dunleavy - the guy that hides behind crates and likes to ambush you, only he gets ambushed first

Fisher - the guy that throws lots of grenades into that choke-point area, hoping to kill something

Baron - first guy to get wasted when nobody else "rushes"

Troy Murphy - the guy who constantly suffers from internet lag

Biedrins - the guy who buys the useless/expensive dual pistols just because they look cool.

Oh man, that counter-strike comparison cracked me up CR. I think Adonal doesn't camp well enough though, so while he's sniping, he is easy to see and probably gets hit a lot. Also, I think Murphy is also the guy who goes "AFK" alot especially when his team is on defense. Biedrins and Pietrus probably also run around instead of following the team and get lost, although I bet Pietrus can defend himself a lot better if he does meet an enemy.
