I just don't know what Mike Sherman is doing. He's taking a lot of risks with his cuts to get down to the 53 man limit on the roster. Some of the more glaring errors here, if you ask me... - Cutting Couch and McBrien leaves Green Bay with Favre , Pederson and Nall, whose Pre-Season QB rating is 11! No s*it! 11!!!! - Keeping two punters? WTF? Just pick one... If Sander is a bust, he's a bust. Who cares? You made a mistake. Move on. - Keeping a third fullback? Again, WTF? Henderson is probably going to retire next year and Luchey's locked up for at least three years. This third guy had better be an amazing special teams player or SOMETHING. Otherwise, why???? - Four receivers on the roster, not five. Driver's been hurt in the past. Chatman is both a returner and the number four receiver. I think they should bring Freeman back for one more year. - Cutting Scott Wells leaves Green Bay with 9 offensive linemen, rather than 10, and he was probably their best second string guy. Especially considering he was a rookie seventh round choice. This could be really bad. Cutting a bunch of solid guys to keep other, questionable guys, and then praying they clear waivers so you can sign them to your practice squad is just crazy. Man, I hope this isn't the disaster it looks like it's going to be. *sigh*
Well, the Packers dodged some bullets. They've made a few moves and signed most of the guys they wanted to sign to the practice squad, including McBrien and Wells. I don't know, though... This whole two punter thing still blows.
