<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">AST RUTHERFORD, N. J. -- Veteran point guard Rod Strickland says that if the Orlando Magic can trade him to a playoff team, he'd be much obliged. "Sure," said Strickland, obviously looking for a lifeboat. "Hey, I'm 37. I don't have much time left in this league, you know? If something has to be done here [the Magic making trades], then, yeah." Strickland likes the organization, but he realizes the Magic, with the league's worst record, are going nowhere this season. Signed in late November, he knows that he probably won't return when the club regroups in the off-season.</div> http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...?coll=orl-magic
well duh..if you heard they are going to trade a good player like Juwan Howard which is like how old? 30 ? 33? ...He wants to go to the playoffs...conference finals...NBA finals...win a championship! I completely understand him...I can look at his face like in the past 2 games he keeps playing good but not with the same emotion as before.
If it happens what could we get in return? Rod Strickland mentioned he would love to be traded to a playoffs team.I completely understand him...I said that in the other thread. anyways , post your options...what could we get for him? here is an idea...since a lot of people wanted to trade juwan ..how do you guys like this trade: Juwan Howard and Rod Strickland for Wally or Spree.. I mean there is so many questions on where Wally is going to fit now that he is back? I wont give Sprewell up .. they get a 2 for 1..they were interested on Howard and they get a good experienced Point guard to back up Sam I am. we could even include Declerq in there and Bring Hoiberg alone with Wally or Spree..is just an idea...what other team you guys think could make a trade for Rod Strickland...and maybe involving more players since he is a Veteran.? Rod will end up in a very good thing that could win everything..Wolves will end up with Howard which they showed interest since the off - season..and if we get Wally ... T-Mac T-Lue Hill/Wally Wally/Gooden Dwight well?
Well, They arnt giving up Spree for sure.. They don't need stirckland really.. Once Hudson is back full time they wont need another Point Guard.. And Hoiberg? If i am correct Hoiberg has fit in well with that team and is really a role-player.. I doubt it.. If Minnesota can gain Juwan without loosing much, they are gonna do it.. But if it includes some big names like Wally or Spree.. I don't think so...
No way are they trading Spree, and wally's injury is very serious. Best scenario for Magic would be Juwan and Gordan for Olawokandi and Hudson
well T-Hud is injured and I wouldn't trade him if I was Minesota.. and as for Wolves not needing Strickland..they can use him right now while Hudson is out..and when Hudson is back..is always good to have another PG..foul trouble..and he will probably be out next season , and Ill rather trade Declerq Juwan and even Giricek..for Wally and Michael..or Wally and T-Hud...but again I dont know about their injuries.
We need to get a pg or a center in return, Wally would be good, but he's injury prone. SG/SF isn't really a weak spot for us.

I don't blame him but who wouldn't want to be in the situation the Magic are in. I see them in the same state as the Raptors last year without the injuries (other than Grant Hill). I don't know anyone who wants to be in a losing situation but I also don't know anyone that wants to pick up a previously washed up 37 year old back up point guard on the NBA's worst team.

He is 37.. He has some very good leadership for a team.. I think thats why the Magic wanted him, to get some leadership to end the streak.. I dont think hes going to bring a ton skill wise, but for a young team going into the playoffs(Perhaps Memphis, Cleveland if they keep up at this pace, Philly who seem to be lost as a team maybe?) I think it's only right that we repay him for trying to bring the team to life, He desereves it..
