Five highlights from Dwyane Wade's rookie season

    1

    MAY 18, 2004

? A flurry of Wade jump shots over the league's best perimeter defender, Ron Artest, got the Heat back into the must-win Game 6 against the Pacers in the Eastern Conference semis. Eight points in the 2:18 span early in the fourth quarter put the Heat ahead 62-61 with 8:22 left. He probably would have taken over the rest of the game as well had he not picked up his fifth foul. The Heat lost, but the performance left Heat fans wanting more.

? Wade only scored six of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, but it's the last two points that proved he's huge in the clutch. In his first career playoff game, Wade was given the responsibility of trying to win it in the final seconds. He delivered by driving past All-Star Baron Davis and hitting a floating shot over the large Hornets front line with 0.3 seconds left. It was the biggest shot of the Heat's season, winning Game 1 against the Hornets, 81-79.

? At home against the Nuggets, Wade had already thrilled the crowd with amazing first-half plays, including a powerful dunk over Denver's Nene. But in the fourth quarter, Wade scored 10 of his game-high 28 points, including two impressive dunks and a driving layup that demoralized the Nuggets so badly that they eventually gave up before falling 97-81. The performance elevated Wade to the status of fellow rookies LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.

    MAY 10, 2004

? The Heat was down 2-0 against the Pacers, making Game 3 a must-win. Yet with 9:07 left, the Heat only led by two points, and it certainly didn't feel safe. Leave it to Wade to provide separation. He scored 14 points in the final 9:07, leading the Heat to a 94-87 win. He finished with 25 points, six assists and five rebounds, a performance the Heat was used to by now.

    APRIL 30, 2004

? With 54 seconds left and the Heat tied with New Orleans 80-80 and 2-2 in the seven-game series, Wade stood in an unfamiliar and usually uncomfortable place: the corner beyond the three-point line. But Lamar Odom found Wade, and the rookie threw up a three-pointer with no time left on the shot clock. It gave Wade 21 points and the Heat a three-point lead in a key game.

Yeah, I remember all those plays vividly in my memory... Wade is truly an astounding plyer... those 14 pointes in 9:07 was sensational... it's so crazy, especially for a rookie...

Hell yeah, he deserves deep consideration for RoY for what he did for as a player and for his team. Here's another Wade moments:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He responded in Game 5 of the Hornets series, his three-pointer with less than a minute left swung the momentum in the Heat's direction</div>

Wade also hit a clutch 3 in the last game of the preseason for the final play of the game. Good to know he's still coming through in the clutch [IMG]
