Struggling Devils hit the road, fighting for final playoff spot

    "It was the worst of times, then the best of times. Now the Devils face the most desperate of times.

    "I've never been a part of a season where it's been as bad as it was, and probably never been a part of one as good as it's been," Devils left wing Brian Rolston said. "Now it's do or die."

    The Devils' fate will unfold over the next seven days as they head out on a four-game road trip, starting in Columbus today at 5 p.m. It's their first meeting with the Blue Jackets this year.

    Over the rest of the week, they square off with teams against whom they have a combined 3-5-1 record, facing Boston (0-2-0) on Tuesday, Pittsburgh (2-2-0) on Friday and Buffalo (1-1-1) on Saturday."
