Have an idea for a thread? Have a complaint or a complement? Have any question at all about this Cavs forum? This is the place to post. ---------- I will start off by talking about 2 things, and please, I ask that no one takes this to heart as this is not a direct attack towards any one individual. Double Posting: The staff of JBB likes to keep things neat, clean, and organized. I uphold that guideline. If you are the last to post in a thread, please use the "Edit" tab on the lower right hand side of your post, this feature will allow you to add/subtract text from your previous post without looking tacky with 2 posts (or more) back to back. I would really like it if you guys helped us out with that because myself or <font color="Blue">redscoon</font> are going to merge the posts anyway, so you might as well help us out in keeping the place nice and easy to read for our guests. Quality Of Posts: Again, please don't take this to heart, but I have been getting some complaints about a lack of depth in posts and the love for some members to feel they must end every sentence with "!!!". I don't have too much a problem in being short and sweet in game threads as the action is fast and furious, as long as there is no double posting I am fine. Believe me, I don't want to take away from your good time/freedom at all people, I just want to stand out from the rest and be the best Cavs board in the history of the internet, which we are now, but I know like you guys probably know that we can get better. Being neat and clean also sets a great example for new members to the board, like leading by example. I know many of you are new here and you have came from boards where you had 100% freedom, and coming here where we have a system in place can be at times frustrating, but you guys have to know it is for the best. The same rules apply to regular members, moderators, and administrators, there are no exceptions. I can't thank you guys enough for what you have done since you have been here, and I can't do it without you, I just see a ton of potential here and I want to maximize it, that's all. So to wrap it up this is not being brought up just because these are some pet peeves that I have, but to help make things easier for our members and guests and make this forum an even better attraction. Thanks King James, Marketing Director of JustBBall.com
Post paddling is probably the most annoying thing to edit. Well I wouldn't know but i can imagin. But mostly happens during the game threads. I have no complaints, I just feel ya.
I just hope that everyone sees that it is annoying to look at and that it is not just me being an ass, ya know? Thanks Mr_Infante for understanding.
Also another thing that "isnt annoying" is too much of is people getting over excited. We all are excited people but there is no need for every sentence ending in "!!!" example. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Great win for the Cavs!!! LeBron scored 19 points and 5 assists!!! And we are only half again from the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</div> Not everyone does it, but it does happen.
Yeah, it's like they are yelling out every sentence they type up, just looks tacky. We are adults here, no need to, hell, I don't know why they do it.

I am guilty of using the !!! key a little!!! Sorry!!! Sorry again. OK, it's out of my system. I must admit also I have been caught out double posting a couple of times. Alot of the time, particulary in game threads, when people are posting constantly, you just post a new thread assuming that someone has been posting in between. You get caught out, but it definately ain't post padding as you like to call it. And while on the edit subject! I hate when you have posted something a long while ago, and you have something quite different to say, and would like a response, you feel obliged to edit! Therefor your "new" post is really an old one seeing that the edited time is ignored. So that post sits near the bottom of the threads, and is not viewed as people think it has already been viewed! Hense I may double post in that situation! Nothing major dramas!!! Sorry. lol
Yeah I have no problem with that, if you are the last to post in a thread that is a few days old and have something extra to say, then go ahead and post. The problem is if it is just one after the other. I know it is hard during the game threads to keep track of that, but the post count really means nothing now and the people will still read what you said anyway, so it should not be a big deal. I have no problems with editing the threads after the game, that after all is my job here, so I know it will never go away. Just keep up the posting fellas, don't feel pressured or looked down on by any of us. Things are fine how they are, but all we are saying is we can get better out of ya. So it's not a negative.
The thing with the game threads is that people use them like they are instant messaging someone or they are in a chatroom
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CANT STOP ME:</div><div class="quote_post">The thing with the game threads is that people use them like they are instant messaging someone or they are in a chatroom</div> Well KJ likes to see those 100 threads for the games, so in a sense, it is a little like a chatroom, particulary in those tight finishes like last night! I try and make each post informative and not just "great dunk LeBron". But you to expect down the stretch there will be quick small posts at times!
oh i should have said it clearer. i was talking about how people will use one or two words in them like "nice" or "nice play" its kinda annoying.
That is where the quality comes in. I don't mind big threads, in fact, I want those game threads to be massive, but with good depth, like we had ina 4 game stretch when you guys first came over from ESPN.
Alot can be said in 2-3 lines. So tomorrow if there are 4 timeouts down the stretch and plenty of free throws in a tight one, you are likely to see a couple of people quickly typing down their thoughts so they can get back to the game. I dont see that as a problem personally. Also it gives people who missed the game a chance to go through the thread, and get a slight feel for how the game flowed.
Has anyone else read a good book lately? I was gonna start a thread on books like the movies and video games threads, but if there's not a lot of people that read books it makes no sense.
"!!!"......Guilty as charged............In retrospect, I don't know why I do it. Just for emphisis I guess...........I had no idea it was an irritant to some!........is one OK.................??? You won't see it again...........Scouts Honor..............Tank
Must be some kinda nervous twitch. I can cure that as well if necessary. Don't mean to get on anyones nerves. Tank
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting redscoon:</div><div class="quote_post">I just finished a book about the Vietnam War called "A Rumour of War" that was excellent.</div> I just finished "The Davinci Code"! What a great book. I highly recommend it to anyone out there. If you're a Catholic it might start some heated discussions within your family, but those can be healthy. It makes you think.....
