<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Golden State Warriors dropped to 2-2 in summer league play after losing to the New York Knicks 89-86. The Warriors were never in the game from the start, but staged a furious comeback only to come up short. The Knicks jumped out to a quick 14-4 lead providing them the cushion they would need for the entire game. The Warriors entered the fourth quarter down 75-56, but outscored New York 30-14 to make a game out of it. Golden State was plagued by sloppy play and turnovers throughout the contest providing the Knicks with 26 turnovers and 19 second chance points.

"Following that start our guys could have easily thrown in the towel," said summer league Head Coach Keith Smart. "I'm really proud of the way they hung in there and battled the whole game."

It looks like Biedrins came back down to earth. Still, 9 points, 10 boards, and 3 steals is not a bad outing, espeically after having played 42 minutes the night before.

It looks like Sweetney took it too Cisse and Biedrins, which was probably a pretty good lesson for them.

Not a bad game. He had 10 boards. If he had this type of game every night in the regular season this year, I would be happy.

Yeah, but obviously the real NBA is an entirely different game. Also if anybody underrates Michael Sweetney, they shouldn't. The warriors were actually looking to draft this guy. He's a rebounder and low post scorer so you know the combination of rebounding/inside scoring/high % of points in the paint is what gets you in the end if you can't produce the high percentage shot. I was big on Andris Biedrens the minute I heard "defensive minded/soft hands" and the comparrisons to Andrei Kirilenko and Kenyon Martin. He should do well in the regular season despite being raw, undersized, and very young.

Yeah, I was just saying that I did not expect him to put up 19pts and 12 rebs a night like he did last night. I would be happy if he played like this on average. I do not have too high expectations for him this year, that way I will not be disappointed as if I had set high expectations from him.

I think as long as Fitzgerald, Roye, or Barnett don't say something stupid on air like "He's been perfect from the line", or any other form of praise or mention of a statistic Biedrens could be doing 10-19 points because he seems to get fouled a lot (his footwork, cleverness, movement without the ball and athleticism help). Of course I'm just assuming that Biedrens is the starter and Murphy gets traded for someone big. I'm also assuming that players aren't fouling him on purpose because they know he generally stinks at free throws (although he was perfect 8/8 in this game).

Question: Does Monty or any other head coach attend any of the Summer League games?

Mullin was at the first two games. You know they have a video at the very least, from five angles most likely.

If Murphy gets traded, it will be hard for me to swallow.

Monty was also at the games as the same time as Mullin, he might have stayed, too, considering how short the league is.
