<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Warriors fell to 2-3 in summer league play after losing to the Memphis Grizzlies 80-74 in Long Beach at the Summer Pro League. In a typical summer league display, both teams struggled to maintain their set offenses for much of the game. The two teams combined for 56 turnovers and 18 assists with Golden State handing over 35 of those freebies, while totaling 11 assists. ?Both teams struggled offensively today,? said summer league head coach Keith Smart. ?I think playing our fifth game in seven days is starting to show a little in our guys.? </div> http://www.nba.com/warriors/news/summer_le...cap_071804.html Ugly, ugly game.
Gotta handle the rock and feed the big man guys. Isn't Biedrens the biggest guy on the court btw? The guy should be dominating like he did with older competition smaller than him. But I guess he's gotta worry about speedier players that strip the ball and such. I remember one website wrote that he dominated a lot of competition despite being so young because he was big and quick for his size and the other competition wasn't as big/quick in the Euro league he played for before becoming drafted. Plus these are some of the guys that have NBA bodies and are competing for a spot, so it must be fierce.
Most of these players are looking out for themselves, trying to make the team. That is when you start seeing a lot of selfish and ugly play. This isn't too suprising.

None of them are stars except possibly Biedrens or Pietrus in a few years.
I can't remember, it couldn't have been a whole lot. And I only focussed on him when he played during the pre season and not in any summer league. All I know is he was everywhere and what he did on the court was more important than his stats. Cardinal was just Cardinal. Make the open shots, grab extra posessions, and get the team involved. Just as important as scoring. I'm just so glad he didn't get hurt or he wouldn't have gotten paid this year. And now the guy is stinking rich in Memphis. I'm glad for him. He's now a real millionaire. No more dogfood for him every night.
Who would have known at this time last year that he would have signed such a massive contract to play with the Grizz.
<font color="navy"><font size="3">Brian Cardinal played for the Miami Heat's summer league team in 2003. Here's a quote I found from an old hoopshype article. "</font></font><font size="3"><font color="navy"><u>Brian Cardinal</u></font></font><font size="3"><font color="navy"> continues to be a fan favorite with his hustle, he finished second is steals."</font></font>
Man, the Heat let him go after experiencing the Custodian first hand? Not smart, he would be more valuable to the Heat than Shaq in my opinion.
I noticed Art Lee in the box score of the game http://www.proexposure.com/stories/0719g.cfm Is this the great Art Lee from Stanford? I think that was his name. The PG when they had Tim Young and Mark Madsen. Art Lee 3-5 0-0 1-1 7 1 3 4 6 1 2 0 3 16:24 He didn't play too poorly. 3-5 from the field 7 points 4 boards, 3 steals. 2 Turnovers to 1 Assist isn't great. But not too bad. Was this his first game?

You never know what trades are coming up before winter approaches so maybe we might need a third guard and one that understands Montgomery's system. I am not familar with the guy's game at all.
I remember Art Lee being a player that was very solid. He isn't extremely talented in any area, but he is very solid. I guess he is somewhat like Earl Watson. He's a solid defender, can handle the ball and will take leadership with the ball in his hands, can shoot a little bit, and drive a little bit. I don't know if he's quite at Earl Watson's level though. Earl is pretty good. Maybe he's closer to Dean Oliver or something. I can't really say actually because I haven't seen him play in a long time. You can't really depend on him to be your scorer, or make a ton of plays. But like I said, he's solid and he'll get his points and assists and such.
