http://www.draftcity.com/playerimages/hervelamizana/hervelamizana2.jpg"> IHerve Lamizana</a> will be on the summer league team. I know, who? This guy is pretty raw 4 year college player from Rutguers, but I'm excited about his potential and possible huge impact on defense with the help of coach Montgomery. He's a 6'9-6'10 small forward that is long and athletic. He can play some power forward too. His biggest aspect is that he's got range on his shot (although streaky), he is a huge shotblocker with a 7 footer's wingspan, and has a lot of potential. His downside is that he lacks motivation and needs to polish a whole lot of his game. http://sports.injersey.com/sports/story/0,...,989929,00.html http://nbadraft.net/profiles/hervelamizana.htm http://www.draftcity.com/hervelamizana.htm Does anyone else know the summer league roster?
I was surprised (and glad, I guess) that he wasn't drafted, now we can get a better look at him. It's strange, but the Summer League rosters haven't been announced. Last year, they were announced around this time and games were in a few days. There are several leagues, I suppose, so perhaps the W's are in a different league, or perhaps they're simply starting later this year due to the playoff pushback.
The rosters aren't out yet. I imagine they'll be anounced on the Warriors official site or the summer pro league's official site within the next couple of days. Here's a link to the summer pro league: link
Cool thx, walker. BTW Zhone, what about Darius Rice, the Miami Hurricane 6'10 small forward. I was wondering why he didn't get drafted. Was he graduating this year or next year? Also there was another guy. 6'10 Israeli forward Amit Tamir? Man, we could use Tamir. Maybe its all that army stuff he has to do.
Is anyone else planning on seeing any of their summer league games? I'll most likely be heading down south to Long Beach to catch a few. I'm anxious to see AD.
It's funny because Rice and Tamir have similar games: big long range bombers. They also have similar stories: Tamir was considered a lock for a draft spot out of high school after a legendary season in Israel, just as Rice's story has been detailed, where Rice was a first round prospect in his earlier years. Both finished out their years of college eligbility (both were seniors). And, both had their stats dip in their final years. I think Rice was picked up for a summer league team, somewhere. His overall game is a bit better than Tamir's, in my opinion, though they are similar. I've lost track of Tamir, he was training around the Bay Area but that was quite a while ago. Tamir's shot is a bit streaky, and although he's a good passer for a big man, he's not quite athletic enough for the SF, and I'm not sure if he's strong enough for the PF.

Hopefully, he'll get that mean streak and start dominating. Don't forget this was a kid who was beating up on competition much older and stronger than him.

I was looking at Tamir as a power forward. I forgot to mention that. Did you know that Darius Rice is the nephew of Jerry Rice? So he would have had some bay area ties in a way. http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/dariusrice.asp
Tamir could work as a backup PF maybe, but he'd be a longshot to make the warriors roster. On a totally unrelated note, I noticed that Mr. Todd Fuller was picked up on the Charlotte Bobcats summer league team. I'm surprised that guy still is playing, maybe he's worked on his game, or something?
hey rudeezy I live in Long Beach and I'm planning to catch at least a couple of the Warriors games at the pyramid.

I'm still deciding on when to go. Do I have to buy the tickets in advance? Is there a schedule out already?
I think the schedule on the main site is updated for this year, but I'm not sure. I wish I could make it down, but I've gotta work. Games start on July 10, but the Warriors don't start until July 12. July 12: Warriors v. Spurs 7:30 July 13: Warriors v. Star 5:15 July 15: Lakers v. Warriors 12:45 July 16: Warriors v. Knicks 12:45 July 18: Warriors v. Grizzlies 3:00 July 19: Dallas B v. Warriors 12:45
Summer league is only shown on NBA TV (no station is going to shell out the big bucks to show a bunch of rookies) and the warriors have no games even on that schedule. The TV schedule is on the right hand side: http://www.nba.com/news/summerleagues2004.html
Yeah, it's an extra service that is under the "NBA League Pass" for digital cable. There's an advert on it on the nba website, www.nba.com/nba_tv/

I'm hoping to stay down south for a few days and catch atleast 2 games.
