http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com/news/ar...ticleSource=363Apparently they had some sort of draft, and he was selected by them. Is he the only non black guy on the Globetrotters. I saw them once 2-3 years ago, but I can't remember if they're still an all-black team.It will be awesome to see what kind of stuff he can do. He's obviously slow as hell, but watching a 7"9 guy play basketball is obviously entertaining.
Well, it doesn't actually say that he will join the Globetrotters. They just made it known that they would like to have such a player on their team. If I were him though, I would definitely take that opportunity. He will never play in the NBA, and being on the Globetrotters would not be a bad second choice.

I have seen youtube videos, and I have never heard anyone who talks about him suggest that he would be worthy of playing in the NBA.

Most teams are looking for a player that won't be a liability just for the sake of money. You can believe whatever you want, but he's been in the draft before and hasn't been selected.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MiﮒFi?? @ Jul 5 2007, 01:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Wow so you heard that on the draft... you know how long that line has been around basketball.</div>My point was that it's a silly line. There's no point in saying in, because there are thousands of people around the world that are 7'+. There are very few that are truly skilled at basketball and that tall. Sun Ming Ming doesn't seem to be one of those. It is the type of line that Stephen A. says, because it is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
I think I saw them at the Metro Centre the same day you did CB4, but this should be weird/interesting to see what Sun Ming Ming is like on the team.
Man what kind of entertainment could that guy bring?? I'd rather see one of the highflyers for sure than waste a ticket seeing Ming snail up and down the court.

But Outside The Lines did a feature on him and Donnie Nelson had visited some camp in Europe a few years back and watched him play. He said several GM's have actually taken a look at him as well. He claimed that he could have NBA potential but that was a few years ago before he even came to the US and people thought he could improve a ton which never really did. Like I said, I agree that he will never make it to the league, but NBA brass do know about him and have looked at him.

I guess my thing is that when you go through a draft and you are undrafted, it says a lot. I mean, everyone and a while someone slides by, like a Marquis Daniels or a Ben Wallace, but that is extremely rare. Not only that, but Sun Ming Ming is pretty well known... I'm sure plenty of scouts, GM's, etc., have seen him. So basically, from my POV, he was passed up 60 times, then no one wanted to pick him up when he was undrafted. Nobody even wanted his rights to let him develop then maybe pick him up later. That's a pretty strong statement from the league.
