Lindsay Whalen Night was held at the Mohegan Sun Arena Thursday but there was no parade, confetti and certainly no hoopla. It was just hoops, which is totally her style anyway. Whalen, for the last six seasons the core of the Connecticut Sun, returned to her former professional home for the first time since the Sun dealt her to the Minnesota Lynx in January; an emotional and complicated trade Connecticut didn't want to make, but felt it had to for a better future. But this was no love fest. Whalen's introduction before the game was so rushed the crowd barely had the chance to react. Some of those who did were standing. But when the jump ball was thrown it was clear Whalen's intent was to quiet the cheers. Well, the Sun didn't let it happen. There were two reasons why they traded Whalen — Renee Montgomery and Tina Charles. And for the most part, there were two reasons why Connecticut beat the Lynx, 105-79. That's right, Montgomery and Charles. http://www.courant.com/sports/baske...c-sun-minnesota-0528-20100527,0,1044810.story
