GOING FOR THE SWEEP!!!! RHP - Michael Pineda (1-5, 6.60 ERA) VS. RHP - Jesse Hahn (1-1, 3.38 ERA) Now lets hope that Pineda can pull his head out of his ass & keep the line moving.
Today's starting lineup.......... CF - Ellsbury (276) LF - Gardner (246) DH - Beltran (268) C - McCann (258) 1B - Teixeira (191) 2B - Castro (277) 3B - Headley (218) SS - Gregorius (252) RF - Hicks (207) GO YANKEES!!
Maybe Pineda is just a knucklehead. Not too bright. He just doesn't know how to "pitch" and setup batters- still has to be led around by the hand by his catcher.....same goes for Eovaldi. The pitch sequence and selection also leaves alot to be desired. The target always seems to be low and away...low and away ad nauseum to the point where the batters have no concern for the inside or top of the strikezone fastballs... And messrs McCann and Rothschild share some blame - imo.
I'm hoping the Yankees score more runs than the A's.......... because Mr. SlantedCap will give up some runs today. That's my slant!
Vogt two run double. A's lead 3-2. First pitch fastball right down broadway..... Why they chose to throw a fastball anywhere near the plate is anybody's guess.
And we get two runs back, now lets just hope that Michael (I can't find the center of my head) Pineda does fuck it up.
Beltran two out rbi double after Yanks bunted Hicks to 2nd base. I like it. Beltran is raking up alot of doubles.
aw shucks, one more hit after Beltran's and Doolittle would of went into full meltdown, on the mound.... nice to see some Yanx bats waking up...thru this west coast swing...
Michael I'm in full agreement with you. With a win today we'll be 13-6 without A-Rod I only hope Mr 194 doesn't back & screw things up.
Just what the A's needed to score off Miller - two Yankee errors to begin the inning. Shit. Very good job by Miller limiting the damage..very good job. He's terrific! Might be the best late inning reliever over the past three years. Surely near the top of the list.
just when the going got good, looked like DD and Castro were doing their damnd-est to give the lead back... escaped giving up 1 run ... I can only imagine what was going thru Miller's head...
big WIN - for May 22. This team needed a few wins before they begin a stretch through the meat of the A.L. East and have picked up two games in the standings over this road trip - now 5.5 games out. I just hope nobody tells the Yanks there's still a "race" going on, they may get nervous.
