Suns vs Sonics I'm late on this thread, the game is in the second quarter. The Suns dug themselves another hole in the first quarter by letting the Sonics go on an 8-0 run. They were down by 16 but the second unit has really stepped up and the game is tied at 36 now. Jacobsen has been the only one to go to the free throw line. Barbosa has been playing great and is using his length to get into the passing lanes and deflect a lot of balls. Williams has been great and Penny is stepping up while JJ keeps up his inconsistency and is 0-6 in the first half so far. Correction: Suns now lead by two. *edit* It's halftime now and the Sonics lead 41-40. Not bad considering the Sonics scored 30 in the first quarter to the Suns' 18.
It's easy to tell that the Suns are trying their hardest to break this losing streak. They're hustling for anything and everything that can give them that extra push for the lead. It's weird, the Suns as of late have been getting more assists than their opponents, but tonight they only have 13 and they can win the game.
One thing that I've also noticed is that they force many turnovers, and commit little turnover's, but still lose. They have a 13-23 edge right now over the Sonics. They're also not getting to the free throw line enough.
The free-throw line has been a problem for the Suns for years. They are fifth in the league in terms of the opponents shooting more free-throws than them (I think it's something like a 3 FT difference). Tonight the Suns happen to be getting more turnovers but that hasn't been the case lately. They have been getting outscored in the hustle stats like second chance points and fast break points I believe.
Wow, Rashard Lewis missed both free throws. With 7 seconds left, I say they just run a screen for Marbury and have him drive inside for the lay-up or get to the line.
The streak is over! The Suns finally got the basket when they needed it. Throughout the fourth quarter the basket they so desperately needed alluded them. They finally get it in overtime with Marion sinking the game winner. It was an ugly win, but a win none-the-less.
Since I don't have League Pass, I have to watch the Play-By-Play on Sportsline.com and I almost crapped my pants when it said Marion missed the 2nd free throw. And I think it said Barry jacked up a half-court shot, didn't SEA still have another timeout?
I think they did have another timeout, but I'm not sure if I heard it or not on the radio broadcast. I'm guessing they didn't though if they didn't call a timeout. Either way it doesn't matter because the streak is over! Yes!
Rashard Lewis really did spoil a good game from himself.Missed two FT's that would of put Sonics up 3 with 5 seconds to go.Sonics let this one slip away.Suns needed this win though.
I saw the boxscore and it said that the overtime score was 3-2, is that right? Or is a mistake? How could two teams combine for a total of 5 points in a 5 minute timespan?

I mean combining for 5 points in OT!!! That's 1 basket each MAX. Anybody got info on what the record is?
I think the record was set or tied last year. It was something like three points I think, not sure though. The five points can be a record. The Suns were getting shots, but for the first time in a few games, they couldn't hit them. After the first quarter the Suns defense really started to lock the Sonics up.
