Cavs @ Suns Preview Cleveland Cavaliers (0-1) @ Phoenix Suns (0-1) Thursday, 10:30 pm Eastern America West Arena, Phoenix Arizona Radio: WTAM - AM 1100 TV: WUAB/TNT Previous Game Cavs 92 @ Kings 106 Suns 82 @ Spurs 83 Head Coaches Paul Silas/Frank Johnson Probable Starters Zydrunas Ilgauskas/Jake Voskuhl Carlos Boozer/Amare Stoudemire Darius Miles/Shawn Marion Ricky Davis/Joe Johnson LeBron James/Stephon Marbury Injury Lists Cleveland Cavaliers Dajuan Wagner Ira Newble Bruno Sundov Phoenix Suns Robert Archibald Scott Williams Keys To The Game Cleveland - You must stop Stephon Marbury at all costs. The Suns are not a great shooting team (much like the Cavs) so you want to make Marbury give it up as much as possible. The Cavs will have to run very fast to get back on D as the Suns love to run the floor and finish at every given opportunity. Carlos Boozer will have to try and keep the reigning Rookie Of The Year Amare Stoudemire in front of him, because his game is still not very polished and he does not have a lot of faith in his jump shot. Miles will have his hands full chasing Shawn Marion all night long, he will have to try and force Marion to take mid range jump shots and keep him out of the lane. Phoenix - If the Suns learned anything from watching the Cavs/Kings game it had to be to disrupt rookie phenom LeBron James. They can't let LeBron get comfortable, they will have to give him different defensive looks and an occasional double team at half court to try and get the ball out of his hands. Miles and Davis are coming off of poor shooting games, so I bet that the Suns will be begging for those two to try and beat them by shooting it from deep. When defending Big Z it's best to bring the double team in when he starts to make his move, because his weakness is passing, so a timely double team could be very important and can help Jake Voskuhl avoid foul trouble. The King's Take Marbury is too much to handle, Suns win 104-98
Lebron's first back to back set of games..I think he could struggle with his shot bur still put up decent stats.Suns will win..they have to really. They can't afford to 0-2 heading into their game on saturday v the Lakers.
Don't forget back to back and then having to defend Marbury, that is a huge test. Not that anybody stops Stephon anyway.
So is Lebron a full-time point guard now? If so he of course won't stop Marbury but he will give trouble because of his size alone.A 6'8 PG is very tough to shoot over...He can cause alot of mis-matches in the post as well.
Thats right, he was named the starter because of his play in the Cavs last pre season game as the starting PG (8 assist vs Wiz) Guess that play did not end there either.
Amare had a bad first game. I agree he will have a break out game. Marion is gonna be tough for the Cavs. In the game vs the Kings the Cavs weren't putting a body on anybody, I thing the suns will have a big night on the Boards. I dont the James is going to do that much. Its not like playing back to back games in High School. He is playing against MEN. Towards the end of last nights game it looked like James was getting really tired. I dont think he is going to be a factor in this game. They are gonna have to like to BIG Z down low and for Davis to turn it on. CAVs cant count on their rookie to do everything for them
The Suns should have beat the Spurs in the opener and cannot start 0-2. They will take out their anger on the Cavs. Suns/Lakers match-up will be nice.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jaremy Alexande:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm not taking anything away from James hes a great player, but he is playing pros.</div> Lame Cavs lead 31/30 after 1. Halftime, Suns lead 53/49 James has 13 points (4-8 FG), 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 three point make. Amare has 14 and 7, with 2 blocks. End of the 3rd quarter, Cavs lead 73/72 James has 19 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, on 7-14 FG. PS: See people, thats how you use the "Edit" feature.
Suns win 95/86 Turnovers haunted the Cavs as well as a lack of getting to the foul line. Full Story coming soon.
The CAVs have a lot of talent and give them a few years together and think they will be a playoff contender
21 points (8-17 FG's), 12 rebounds, 8 assists, and a steal. What will the haters say next? Doug Christie the first night, Shawn Marion the next, tsk tsk.
I'm not hatin...there is a big difference between High School ball and NBA. I just think he would have a game like he did last night... But I already told you I was wrong and he impressed me... Now lets see if he can do that every night
He does not have to play like this every night, that seems impossible. You still keep putting that HS thing in his face. Did you not know that he was in Michael Jordan's secret workouts? Did you forget about his illegal workout with the Cavs last season that got John Lucas suspended? Lucas was also left speechless by LeBron's performance. See how LeBron played with those kids ate the McDonalds All American Game? Those were big boys that are either in the NBA or at a major college. How many exhibition/charity games did Bron play in this summer where he left guys like Ron Artest in awe. Do some homework before you lash out at someone just because you fell victim to the hype.
Come on now playin pros in practice... You can't even compare the to playin in a real game. ITS PRACTICE... you aren't going to play with the same level of intensity that you would in a game.
