<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Phoenix Suns might have center Kurt Thomas available for spot duty off the bench against the Los Angeles Clippers Monday night. Thomas has not played since breaking his right foot against Boston on Feb. 22. Thomas took part in a team scrimmage Sunday and said he might be able to play, but Suns coach Mike D'Antoni downplayed the possibility. "He might dress tomorrow and see how he feels," D'Antoni said. "He looked pretty good today, but it's a long shot." Both Thomas and D'Antoni said there was a much better chance Thomas would play Wednesday in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, if the Suns advance. Defensively, Thomas would be a huge asset against a Clippers front line that has dominated the undersized Suns all series. However, D'Antoni said it's unfair to expect someone to play at playoff intensity before he's even had the chance to get into game shape. The Suns certainly could use another big man against the Clippers in Game 7 of their Western Conference semifinal series.</div> Source That would be straightup phenomenal. Kurt playing spot duty down the stretch, and maybe even a little defense, could put his team over the hump. I guess it depends on how rusty he is.
Good to see you back and posting. The Suns can use all the help they can get on the frontline. The Suns are only using a 7 man rotation and are reluctant to play Grant or Burke in this series. Having Kurt available gives the Suns an option in case Diaw, Marion, and/or TIm Thomas get in foul trouble. I think D'Antoni will only play him in a worst-case scenario situation, but it gives the Clippers something new to think about.
I don't think he should come back, he hasn't played since Feb and I think he might actually mess up the flow of the Suns on offense, and defense.
Well, so much for that issue. I have to say, without Kurt around, the offense does look smoother, especially tonight, but let's keep in mind that Brand was the only guy getting his points. We were one Sam Cassell-like game away from packing. Nevertheless, what a match and on to Dallas.
