On the Lakers forum they started a preview of the game on Monday, it was a good preview... but then time for predictions... seeing how it was on a LAKER FORUM. Every band wagon fan from LA to New York posted saying the Lakers would win by 80 or whatever outragous number came to their mind.

    http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12239

So ALLNET went in explaining how 3 bench players, Devin George, and a 40 year old GP won't beat the Suns. Of course they were attacking him, so I just echoed what he had said and shortly after I was attacked.

They talk about teams LA beat, so I talked about teams Phoenix beat, but I'm an idiot for doing that. I call Laker fans bandwagon fans, and I'm stupid (cause when the Lakers were being bounced from the 1st round they had ALL these fans [IMG] yeah give me a break). I didn't call ALL of them band wagon fans (I even said there are probably some true fans, but most are bandwagon jumpers, which is true... look at Chicago, I knew hundreds of Bulls fans in the 90s, currently I know 1 -- those others are suddenly wearing Purple and Yellow)

Then even though I feel I've proven I know a thing or 2 about basketball during the week or so I've been on this board, I know NOTHING about basketball now... yet if I said "Lakers own" I'd be a genius I guess. I was called a "blind die hard" because I said the Suns with Marion, Marbury and now with Johnson and Barbosa playing good could beat a Lakers team who is starting Jamal Sampson and Slava Medvedenko. Mind you I never said they could beat a healthy Lakers team, those of you familar with my posts would know I'm very critical of the Suns.

My theory is the bandwagon fans took offense to my "bandwagon" remarks. Not my fault they are bandwagon, and if they weren't why were they offended? I wasn't called EVERY LAKER fan that, just all the bandwagon ones (which is most). Then they went on about how Suns suck and Barbosa is a nobody, and Sampson is going to be MVP or something [IMG]... anyway no need to post in their forum cause Laker fans do get cranky when told their 2nd string teams won't win. Besides when the Suns start winning Championships most of them will be on this forum anyway

But my question is TO NON-LAKER FANS : Who do you think will win Monday's game? I know Laker fans answers, I want to see what other basketball minds have to say.

P.S.>> The problem with arguing with Lakers fans is they've only seen games of the Lakers, Kings, and Spurs. Cause they only see local games + TNT games, those don't show many teams. I am forced to watch Laker games on TNT so >>I<< have actually seen the other team... I don't blame them for TNT's choice of games, I wrote out my ALL-STAR team and left Cassell out of it because the Wolves are also unknown to most people outside of Minnesota because ESPN, TNT, and FOX don't care about them, only the Lakers. I bet the 2nd string Lakers open SportsCenter :P

That's the works you get when talking with Lakers fans. If you attack one, they take it personal and they all attack you. Just take it in stride, I guess. I haven't checked out the posts in there, though. It is true though that the Lakers have been somewhat impressive without their stars, but it is absurd to think that the Suns can't win this. The Suns have the quickness, athleticism, and overall ability to beat a hobbled Lakers team.

On the subject of bandwagon fans, they have been in existence ever since the NBA has existed. The thing is that L.A. is the prime target for these fans more often than not. Can't say they aren't loyal for the time they are a fan atleast, because some of those fans are just downright vicious. If they jump on you because you don't wave the Lakers flag like they do then just forget about them because everyone else can tell whether or not someone is a good poster anyway.

Well I posted on the Lakers forum... just to clear up what I meant about bandwagon fans... some people take everything personal.

Anyway they are blaming the lose on everything except the fact Phoenix has a better roster at the moment. Even without Stoudamire the Suns won... I can't believe it was that close, even with Amare I thought it would be a much bigger win than that.

What's with the shooting? Joe is the only consistent one (yes HE IS consistent, and has been all year) -- Joe had another good game, Marion was off all night. Eisley and Voskul stepped up (but Voskul usually does, non-Suns fan don't know about Jake... he's a dirt-worker as Cotton would say!) -- another hard win. I love the winning, especially when we're not supposed to be winning, but this does hurt our draft position :P but I sure do like the feeling of wins.

P.S.>> I found it funny how the Suns were criticized by certain team's fans because they beat 2 sub-.500 teams (Portland twice and the Warriors) yet they bragged about beating the Clippers and Cavs  just kinda funny.

Sorry scorbutic, but I gotta call you out...people were getting mad at you because you were being a jerk...that stuff isn't looked well upon in these forums...lemme just point some stuff out that contradict your explaination....mind you none of the attacks were directed towards me, but i feel you need to know these things to ensure a better enviornment...

    you said this:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Just wait 'til LA sees Barbosa, you don't think Phoenix has any talent cause you haven't seen them, people in LA are so short-sighted and most of you are bandwagon jumpers anyway. I bet Laker fans couldn't name 5 NBA teams... "err... Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Warriors... damnit there's that one starting with an N".</div>

After bustedryde said he was a fan of 20+ years, you respond by saying:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Band Wagon fans sure are funny... isn't it great how Chicago had all those fans in the 90s who were life-time fans for 20 years... </div>

    How bout:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">bustedryde, since when am I being a BLIND DIE-HARD? Did I say the Suns would win the Championship? No. I just commented that I THINK the healthy Suns are going to beat the injured Lakers. That's when all these Band Wagon fans jumped on me telling me I'm an idiot and don't know anything...</div>

Nothing personal man, you just gotta see your own bs..

The only mistakes I made were in the words I used... I see I put Laker fans when I meant bandwagon fans... all the bandwagon fans ARE Lakers fans, but it did seem like I was calling out all of LA, so I see where I went wrong in the wording.

I know I was a jerk, and I will always be a jerk when it comes to bandwagon fans, I've been around them my whole life, and I can't stand it when each and every year their "favorite team" wins and they try to shove it down my throat... I laugh because LAST year that wasn't THEIR team!! Hell, 2 weeks ago it wasn't!! When the Bucs won the SuperBowl do you know how many Bucs fans I met? My God, I never knew that many Bucs fans lived in Phoenix, well that is until mid-way through this season when people jumped ship.

I figured I'd meet some bandwagon fans on the Lakers board, that's why I wrote the stuff I did, because they shouldn't be posting on NBA forums... they shouldn't be concidered FANS!! I don't need to hear about how Shaq and Kobe are the greatest... and to answer the bandwagon question "Is Jordan still playing?" -- and it's that time of the year, SUPERBOWL time... I cannot stand watching the game with my friends or brothers or whoever. They always say "Oh did you see number 32?" -- that drives me nuts. Don't talk if you don't know anything about what's going on, or the players!!

So yeah I was being a jerk, but NOT to the true fans, I respect true fans who stick by their team even during losing seasons, it just makes winning that much better! When the D-Backs won the World Series I was of course happy... but it won't compare to when the Suns finally get one, the D-Backs won in their 4th year, so I'd only been following them 4 years... the Suns are 36 years old, it's been a long time coming and will feel REALLY GOOD when it happens!! Just like when the Cubs or BoSox finally get a World Series ring... Chicago and Boston will be crazy!!
