The Suns have picked up the team option on the contract of coach Alvin Gentry for the 2011-12 season. "He obviously did a phenomenal job," Sarver said of Gentry. "What I was most impressed with was his willingness and ability to make adjustments during the playoffs. It really separated him as an excellent coach." Gentry finished fifth in the voting for the Coach of the Year award this season. He still ranks among the lowest paid coaches at $1.95 million for next season.
