So whats going on with my boys? With the return of barbs i thought we would be even better, but after that loss to Clips we really hit a bad patch. However, we did not lose to the hawks and the spurs did!! LOL....

LOL....</div> We play team basketball and we've been slowly losing pieces of our team to injury. Increased minutes and pressure on the remaining pieces only sets them up for fatigue (and possible injury). So yeah, that's a big part of why we've struggled lately. We used to be so deep coming into the season, now I feel like I'm watching Hoosiers when they recap the list of healthy suns players available for a game.
I'm starting to think that this team needs to be built with the long haul more in mind. Obviously, they figured with a bench 12 deep, they would be fine for the first half of the season, but with that mentality backfiring, it may be time to work a deal for some stability specifically at the playmaker position, the point. With Nash logging most minutes, and Barbosa (formerly) taking the rest, the team looked sharp, but with Nash's advancing age, lack of defense, and increased playing time, it's time to look in a new direction to fill the last of that floor time. A point who can make plays is the only that will fit in this offense, and not many bench guys with that capability come to mind, but that's on Colangelo to figure out, not me.

This team, moreso than last year's, was built for the longer term as well as a means to address some shortcomings (defense). We picked up a few younger players in bell, house, jones and diaw (got really lucky with him, 11pts, 13rebs, 8assists in that last game). House can run the floor for short periods of time, especially with diaw out there since he can pass extremely well. LB's injury is just unlucky, the GM's and coach should be able to expect a *few* things to go right otherwise they wouldn't be able to build any kind of team, there just aren't enough active roster slots available to try and prepare for any and all injuries. That said, this next month or so will be rough, but I think once it's over and we have most/all of our team back and Amare ready to lace up, we'll have one of the deepest teams in the league. A team that plays as well together as a team as any other in the NBA, and better than most.
Might have something to do with the Suns being so shorthanded. Two key scorers in Jones and Barbosa is out and therefore have a slim bench. Luckily for Suns fans Eddie House has been playing out of his mind. They really do seem to miss James Jones, for depth more than anything else.
