"When no Suns starter was seen on the court for the final 16 1/2 minutes Tuesday night, it looked more like a preseason norm than it actually was.

But with the exception of Hedo Turkoglu's early exit because of a back bruise, Phoenix played its fourth preseason game more like a regular-season contest.

The Suns were using their top-10 rotation until Earl Clark replaced Turkoglu and the second unit wore out during a rally, leaving the end of the bench to finish a 105-100 loss to Utah at US Airways Center.

What looked real Tuesday was the starters opening well for a fourth time and reserves staying in the game during a rally after contributing to an 11-point second quarter that had dug the hole.

Goran Dragic made three 3-pointers in a 4:11 stretch for a brief Suns lead. But even with Dragic shaking off tired legs to score a team-high 15 points in 22 minutes, the Suns are 20 of 83 (23 percent) on 3s this preseason and are not much more impressive when unguarded from 15 feet.

They have made 64 percent of their free throws.

"We've been traveling a lot and had a tough training camp, so maybe their legs are tired," Dragic said. "I'm positive when the (regular season) starts, everybody's going to make their shots. But on the free throws, we have no excuse."

With Turkoglu lasting nine minutes, more time went to Hakim Warrick and Clark. After a quiet camp and preseason start, Warrick has looked more comfortable the past two games. He had 11 points Tuesday, including follow and fast-break scores.

"You can see with Hakim running the floor, he could be pretty good catching and finishing on the break," coach Alvin Gentry said."
