Next Saturday, Oct. 8th, the Suns are going to have a public exhibition game and practice here at the University of Arizona at the McKale Center. As a member of the press (I work for a TV station), I am going to get the opportunity to be courtside or in a press section for the event, and hopefully I'll get some interviews with the players. I've been a diehard fan since '92 when I moved to Phoenix and have been there since then through good times and bad. I'm exstatic (sp?) that I am getting this chance of a lifetime. What should I ask?
That's AWESOME, man. If you get to ask Nash anything, ask what facet(s) of his game/knowledge of the game he can attribute to his massive repertoire of literary knowledge. (apparently he reads deep, philosophical, sometimes Russian lit.) A more specific question would be: Do you feel that the ideals you (Nash) have learned from European literature, such as existentialism and nihilism, have in any way shaped your outlook on basketball as a game and job? I'd have to assume so. Anyone that into literature can attribute their lifestyle to book learnin'. PS: I'm pretty sure it's ecstatic, but you may be right --- a good resource for stuff like that is Dictionary.com
Personally I'd ask if sees himself in more of a scoring role this year (at least in comparison to last year) due to the roster changes. Also, can just anyone go to the game? How do you get tickets? I'd very much like to go. edit: Ooops, found the link: http://www.nba.com/suns/news/exhibition_tickets_050929.html
Haha. I was 'bout to post that link. Yeah, those are great questions. Culperfect, do you have any sources on Nash's reading habits. I think that would be very interesting to ask him. I might be able to get my interviews online so you guys can see them.
Amare: what facets of the game have you improved on this season? I here you have improved your jumpshot and range, do you think you can be a threat with your jumper this season? Do you think you will have an MVP type season this year, and if so do you feel the Suns can beat the Spurs and reach the Finals?
