I'm looking for a good creatine powder and some good 100% whey protein powder. I'm not looking to spend more than $35 on the powder; and I really don't know how much creatine goes for. What exactly is creatine? How/when do I take it? What does it do? I've got an idea, but I would like someone with knowledge of the supplement to lay down some information for me. And what are some good protein powders?
I usually use Creadrive (GNC brand) and 100% whey protein (GNC Brand) The Whey Protein is about $20-$25 bucks a month and the Creadrive about about $20-$40 bucks a month. They are having a sale at GNC right now on all GNC branded things though. When starting Creatine you drink the mix 4 times a day for 5 days, which is called the loading phase, you then maintain by drinking the mix 2 times a day (once at night, once in the morning preferably before your workout) Creatine fils water into your muscles and makes them appear larger while also giving you gains in your lifts and more energy for your workout. You have to drink a ton of water a day and unfortunately you sometimes get nausea (which means you need more water) and have to pee a lot. IT also repairs your muscles faster than normal.
Ok, so...I am to lazy to find them on GNC's website. Can you go ahead and link me to the exact products that you use? With the creatine...are their any negative health risks? How much water a day are we talking about? I don't get to work out until the evening, so how would I regulate those creatine drinks?
I went to GNC and asked for creatine, but they said I was too young so they recommended muscle milk. I've been taking it for a few days now. Anyone else here try that?
Muscle milk is a good protein to use, it tastes pretty good. Although its somewhat on the more expensive side.
Lots of water, I dunno maybe 100 oz a day? Just take your evening creatine shake before your workout. http://www.gnc.com/product/index.js...167077.2108320.2206673&pg=3&parentPage=family http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2944029&cp=2665513 read the wikipedia page for health risks
working out isnt something that has immediate results, unless its creatine lol. Yeah its whey protein, just take a couple shakes a day (one after you workout) and don't forget to let your muscles rest 48 hours before working the same muscle again
I've been working all my muscles on the same day. I'll rest them tomorrow and just do some running/swimming instead. Is it okay if you drink muscle milk even if you just do cardio?
so when you're doing the 4 shakes a day, is it something like: wake up - shake early afternoon - shake late afternoon - shake evening - shake and then workout? then after the workout, protein shake?
Yeah, but thats only for the first 5 days of your loading phase for creatine. After 5 days of the regimen you only take 2 creatine shakes a day to maintain. I usually drink 1 protein shake after I workout in the afternoon and one before I go to bed. In your case I guess I would have one in the morning and one after you workout at night.
Dude, you go to Sherdog for crying out loud.. ask the guys there, (there's a training section there) you'll get a lot more feedback and as you know a lot of them are training heavily into MMA.
Well I knew JFizzle mentioned it in my benching thread a few weeks back. I don't want to register @ Sherdog. They attack every single white belt LOL. Fuckin' losers.
I have no problem answering any questions you may have. Although I basically only have my experiences to go off of, and the mind of my best friends who's freaking rocked. A lot of guys that workout are complete douche bags and think if you aren't as rocked out as them then you are a pussy and aren't even worth their time.
