Oy, we are losing to not just the good teams, but bad ones as well (lost to Memphis and now Miami). Rockets are now sharing the bottom of the basement with the Grizzlies...joy. After tomarrow, we will probably be 6-8. Wafer Alston is lost as usual, jacking up shots that have no chance of going in (each game he throws up at least one airball for crying out loud!). Bonzi is back to being inneffective and is proving he isn't very smart, thinking he's a jump shooter and a three point shooter (drive the damn ball Bonzi!). Luther still throws the ball away and James is snakebit. Only Yao, Tracy, and Scola have been playing well, everybody else is in wonderland.

Yao Ming was totally outplayed by Shaq, Tracy couldn't hit a shot in the second half, Wade was great, and our role players made waaay too many defensive mistakes.
Oh, and our PG play has just been lousy. I have no idea what Adelman was thinking using Luther Head at PG in the fourth quarter. He had the right idea keeping Luther out of the game in the first half, but for whatever reason gave him big minutes in the 4th.
Scola had his third nice offensive game in the last four. That's about the only positive that can be taken from this game.

QUOTE

I have no idea what Adelman was thinking using Luther Head at PG in the fourth quarter

I was thinking the same thing....it seems to me as if Adleman doesn't know his personel, because anyone who has ever watched this team knows that Luther isn't a true point....especially down the stretch....problems that I see
1. We lack enthusiasm.................last night outside of Scola/Battier it seemed as if the entire team was going through the motions
2. We lack a PG....I really wish Adleman would at least give Steve some playing time...I'm not expecting Steve to tear it up, but he can't be any worst than Rafer "I feel the need to jack up at least 3 bad shots per game" Alston has been
3. We lack toughness.......Tmac and Yao are great talents, but neither one is "tough" enough to really lead a team
4. We lack a bench.....Bonzi plays when he wants to,and when Mike is off he's "off"
5. We suck defensively......JVG was no offensive mastermind, but he would never allow this team to be this pathetic defensively....bad rotations and our inability to keep players out of the paint has killed us late in games this year
6. We foul too much.......Scola has played great, but he fouls way too damn much......there has been a few games where stupid fouls have lost the game for us]
7. Same ole offense.....give it into Yao or run the pick and roll with Tmac and Yao...where's the creativity?.....where's the cutting?....where's the motion?????
It's just hard for me to get up for this team right now.....I see Denver coming in here tonight and kicking us right in our mouths......this team needs changes.....desperately...

As I've said before, the system seems to be reverting back to the JVG days. The so called "read and react motion offense" is pretty much non-existant. Once again we primarily depend on dumping the ball to Yao in the low post and work off the pick-and-roll. If this is what Adelman was going to do all along then we might as well have kept JVG...
Steve Francis needs to play.
