What does you guys think of the trade?

Sura's playing really well in Atlanta, he just got his second triple double tonight, and in his 16 games as a starter hes averaging 14 points, 9 reb, and 5 assists. I know he's playing on a crappy team, but Atlanta's been playing pretty well with Sura, Jason Terry, Jackson, and ChrisCrawford are putting up huge numbers there.

I was just thinking if the warriors didn't trade Jamison or or Sura ,how the the team would be? Maybe the team reacted to o quickly in doing those trades. Sura could have been a good replacement for Arenas and then they could have signed Claxton as a backup.

I think the trade for Robinson was great. If we had Sura and no Robinson, who would have steped up and produced at the 4 while Murphy was hurt?

That good point Rudeezy. Your right they would be really thin at the Pf spot with all the injuries to Murphy and Folye.

I guess they could of had Jamison start at the four, Dunleavy at Sf, and Cardinal as backup at the four. That lineup would be so be bad defensively. But I think that team would have been more like last year, with a a lot of scoring, except the Defense would be awful. I guess I'm just suprised by Sura's stats, especially his 9 rebs a game when he starts and his 2 triple doubles.

I like Robinson too, he's great Defender and leader. I just liked last years team a lot more.

I think Robinson brought more to the table this year than Sura could have. He would have had limited minutes here while Robinson filled a huge void for us. I really liked Sura while he played for us and I know he can produce as well.

Robinson was huge this year, not only on the court with his intensity, defense, and surprisingly good 3-point shooting, but also with his veteran leadership...

Talk about clutch, Robinson came through with some big shots tonight when they counted the most.

What a game, I was glued to my TV. This just shows the loyalty of the GS Warriors Fans. Although we have been out of the playoff race for about a month, we still pack out the Arena and watch every second of every game like it is game 7 of the NBA Finals. Just look at the amount of fans and posts that we put up here in the Warriors forum and we aren't even a playoff team! Thats loyalty for ya.

His team game and defensive game has been so good this year that most fans overlook his upper thirties field goal percentage. BTW I consider Cliff a tweener since he's like a cross between a power forward and small forward. He doesn't really have a back to the basket game or ability to rebound like a center but he sure is a great defender both in the low post and on the perimeter. His offensive game reminds me a bit of Antoine Walker except not as good, but with better shot selection and decision making. I always believed that anyone in the nba is good enough to score because they get the first move, the best players are the ones who can play solid defense and react accordingly to their assignments to force turnovers and missed shots.

He is a great rebounder compared to Cliff Robinson. Cliffy only averages 3 RPG at the PF spot!

That's what I basically implied. I said Cliff's OFFENSIVE game is like Antoine Walker because he likes to shoot 3's all the time. I also said he doesn't have any rebounding ability. Are you talking about Sura?

I was talking about Murphy but it wasn't in response to your post. I was just sharing an interesting stat.[IMG]

Well Murph is a great rebounder period compared to most players. Top 5 in the league last year as I recall. We could have used Troy's rebounding in the final 20 seconds of play last night because that ball kept winding up in the wrong hands miss after miss on the last Maverick's posession that seemed like an eternity. Finally, Cardinal was able to chase it down as time expired and the Warriors won it. Talk about your nail biters. If Walker hit that 3 the Warriors would be crying because the Mavs kept missing but the warriors couldn't secure the defensive rebound. Lack of rebounding is what has killed the warriors in those close games using the small lineup with Robinson, Cardinal, Cheaney, Richardson, Claxton. I guess you needed to go with that since it was the Mavericks we're talking here and those are our best defensive players that were healthy (and you can't take Richardson out or he'll probably pout). But how bad is that when your shooting guard is getting double digits in rebounding over your starting players? All I can say is we better get some big bodies in the draft this year that can take care of the boards.

If Walker hit that 3 it would have been a disgrace. Nowinski clearly traveled on that play but there was no call. Musselman was jumping up and down trying to get the call. Those refs were lucky that Walker missed that wide open three because they would have got an ear full.

Cliffy has provided leadership to the team which cannot be measured. I am sure that he is a primary reason that the team did not go down 2-20 during the 9 game losing streak. His competitiveness is shown on the court every night. His shooting stinks but I'll take it with his other intangibles. No way is Cliffy like Walker, he does not demand the ball, hog the ball, fancy himself the dominant force out there. He passes the ball and plays D hard.

Speaking of Sura, did any of you guys see him miss that lay up on purpose last night so that he could get his 10th rebound and his 3rd triple double in as many games? That was ridiculous. The funny thing is that the League took away that rebound today because that is not the way this game is to be played.
