So what player(s) have pleasantly surprised you and which player(s) have been a disappointment?

My surprise is thomas, camby and Wallace.

My dissapointment is Aldridge (but I know he has slow starts) and Matthews (thought he would come out to prove something)

Wesley's competing with 2 new guards, both spunkier than the sedate Andre Miller. Felton's on his contract year and Crawford always plays this way. It's to be expected that Matthews' stats go down.

I think the same is the cause for Aldridge. As unsure new guys, those scrappy guards want to make themselves look good, not pass it to Aldridge.

Crawford needs to be starting over Matthews. We need additional scoring to free-up LMA in the starting rotation. We cannot find ourselves behind playing catch-up all season long.

And Batum must "think score" in our second unit if Crawford moves to our starting 2G.

It's "disappoint". Not to be nit-picky (well, actually, to be exactly that) but that's one that drives me berserk.

It's a bit too soon, really. But if I had to pick:
Pleasant surprise: Camby. He's been our MVP in at least a couple of the wins. He's old as dirt but still one of the top 2 or 3 rebounders in the league and has had a couple of truly choice blocks.
Of course, me being me, this has depressed me, because it's a sign of how reliant we are on a player who is nearly 40.
Disappointment(s): Felton, because he is so out of control, and just doesn't seem to have the vision that Andre did. Matthews, because his limitations seem more glaring this year, given that we're used to the positives.

I don't think this will fix things. Crawford is like Roy-lite in that he has to have the ball to be effective. He's not a Ray Allen type who can work with a ball-dominant PG. Meanwhile Wes is basically ONLY a spot up shooter (plus hustle plays). But that's also why having Batum with Crawford is a bad thing, because I think good things happen when Batum has the ball a bit more (or at least operates with an actual PG who might actually look at other players before he shoots).
As you can tell, yesterday's 4th quarter notwithstanding, still not happy about the Crawford signing.

Surprise is Nate for letting them loose a bit at home

Disappoint is Crawford. He is not a good thing for our offense in the long run

Surprise: Nobody really. Although, Kurt Thomas looks a lot more spry than I figured he would.

Disappointment: Nobody. Most of my expectations for the new additions have been met so far (good and bad) but if you held my feet to the fire, I'd probably go with Wesley -- he just doesn't look comfortable out there or maybe he's pressing?
