    From today's Times:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With Vitaly Potapenko sidelined with a left hamstring strain, second-year center Robert Swift stepped in and held his own during the morning scrimmage. Swift played staunch defense and rattled in an 18-foot jumper. But he showed his inexperience by botching a layup on a fastbreak to draw the ire of teammate Rick Brunson.

"He's playing much better than he had in the summer league," Weiss said. "The work that our coaches put into him is paying off."

This is very nice to hear, especially with the loss of James over the offseason.

By the way, Brunson is one ugly dude. [IMG]

You will have to excuse me if I am not excited about Swifty just yet. I am still in disbelief that we fell for Ainge's pump fake, and Al Jefferson is not on our team. This guy has Jimmy Mac written all over him. I guess time will tell.

Who says you gotta be pretty to play? haha...Swifty has shown some stuff...the main area we need him in is, of course, defense. He looks to be athletic enough to disrupt shots coming in the paint. I still think he needs to bulk up more. he's got a chance here to prove himself....lets hope he does.

He might just end up like our very own Mikki Moore - extremely tall, but too lanky to play center. I'm poised to believe, like you said, monty, that if he doesn't bulk up, he won't be on our team much longer. Drafting him straight out of high school may have been a stretch for McMillan and the rest of the staff, so we'll just have to see how Weiss handles things.

yo, dude needs a tan. I mean something shocking happened and all the color drained from his face, you wouldnt know. How much does this kid make? 1M? and he can't spend some time on a beach in Hawaii or something? buy a tanning bed? Hell buy and entire tanning salon dammit. I've seen ghosts that are more tan than him. Yeah thats right, I see ghosts, so what?

EDIT:: If he grew some orange sideburns to go with his hair while wearing his Green sonics stuff he would be the worlds tallest leprechaun.

Maybe give him a pipe too.

Not really MUCH more as you put it.

He could use some sun, alot more time in the gym, some Retin-A, and about six more years to develope into a solid back-up center.
